Mayweather retires despite the massive clamor of boxing fans around the world to fight the one who can really beat him… Manny Pacquiao! Was it a bluff or was it the fear of losing?

The boxing world is now in shock after a video interview with Floyd Mayweather Jr came out and posted on YouTube saying he is taking a couple of years off from boxing. The interview took place during Floyd’s visit to 18-year-old cancer patient

“I’m taking a couple of years off…away from the sport of boxing. I want to devote my time to my boxing gym,” said Floyd. Is this another bluff by Mayweather to make an effect on the on-going negotiations of a superfight on November 13? If it is, then it’s not working. Boxing fans perceive Floyd’s announcement as a cowardice move on his part. Floyd, in recent interviews, indicated new demands that favor him to make the fight with Pacquiao come true. But boxing fans again look at it as Floyd putting more blocks to make the fight a reality.

14 days before the fight which Floyd’s camp suggested during the first attempt of both camps to make the fight early this year. “Let us see now if he really wants the fight,” said Pacquiao.

Floyd’s announcement was made on the week when Pacquiao was receiving the Fighter of the Decade Award from the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) in New York.

I hope this was just a bluff by Floyd or maybe what he meant was he is retiring after fighting Pacquiao or it was all but a joke.

But if Floyd really means it, then obviously he is the loser between him and Ring’s No.1 P4P fighter Manny Pacquiao.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is retiring without a title, Ring Mag’s P4P No.2 and ducking the fighter whom everyone thinks can beat him.

Ooops…Sorry but Floyd has one honor when he retires again… Yahoo’s No.1 Pound-for-Pound fighter. Yahooooo?

For me, Manny is the man, he's been in the ring with better figther than Floyd.
