In 1925 you could order a complete house kit from the Sears Catalog and it would be delivered by rail for $1794....

I miss Sears. :bawl:

They had the world in the palm of their hands and threw it away. As we all grew up with the Sears Catalog, all they needed to do is put it online in the mids 90's and they would have been Amason, But no the decided that it wasn't worth it with this internet thing being a flash in the pan.

I feel as though,, in the 90's,,,, even Amazon didn't know what Amazon would become

Same as Sears could be said about us ,,, If we knew what Amazon, Google, Apple, Yahoo, Microsoft, Nvidia
would become,,,,, I would've bought shares

Maybe OpenAI-ChatGTP is next ?? ..... that's the thing ,, we just don't know

Black and Decker owns Craftsman/Stanley/Dewalt . I wonder if Craftsman still honours lifetime warranty on 50 yr old, ratchets and screw drivers.

I would not be surprised if they do.
Their web site still lists hand tools (with few exceptions) as lifetime.

https://www.craftsman.com/pages/warranty

And Rona seems to have their tools still listed, and available in store.

https://www.rona.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/RonaAjaxCatalogSearchView?catalogId=10051&keywords=craftsman&langId=-1&searchKey=RonaEN

Sure, it is not the Craftsman we remember, but usually when they choose to acquire the brand, it includes the liabilities that go with it.

I bought a set of Mastercraft Platinum diamond cutting hole saw bits about 15 years ago
I used up the 1/2 inch and needed another one for a tile job I was doing last summer
I walked in to CT with the bit in hand , not expecting much
I was met by a 20 year old girl at the CS counter , I showed it to her and she directed me
to the isle where they keep bits , she called someone to meet me there for help finding the part
I walked up to the counter with the new bit,, showed it to her and she said great have a good day
And I walked out !!

Didn't ask for the receipt, didn't ask how it came to be like that ,, didn't even fill out a report ,, and
I didn't have to sign a return report -- (I have heard that they change it only once in that "lifetime" guarantee

I don't know about craftsman ,, but CT's Mastercraft and Mastercraft Platinum are "lifetime guaranteed"
