TikTok ban in US Jan 19 2025, can it actually work?

This isn't a news piece but I thought this is best place for this question.

Can the US government actually ban TikTok? Can't the end user in the US just circumvent the ban, like with a VPN or something.

I guess if it's on a phone they could look at the SIM's phone number. Like how are they going to technically make a ban work?

I guess if Facebook can ban Canadian news then the government can remove Tik Tok

China bans a lot of social media and many other countries do so too. It can be done.
