went to ER for a ct scan and was there for 12 hours and I had to back because of bad imaging the first time

That is the only one good thing we have here in Montreal. "MOST" Hospital parking has been capped. First 2 hours are free, then it is a max of $11 for 24hrs. And they offer long term passes also for those who will be there frequently. Applies at least for the Glen Site (Royal Victoria, Children's, Shriners, Chest Insitute, Cedar cancer center), Montreal General, The Neuro, and Lachine hospital is even cheaper if I recall. The CHUM (French "super" hospital) also has the same.

But we still can't get family doctors :)

Last time I was in the ER, I got super "lucky". When you are 50+ walking into the ER holding your chest, COVID doesn't matter or anything else. The triage nurse looked up, saw me, she stopped talking with the patient she had at the counter, took me to the back right away and hooked me up to EKG. From there, within 6 hours, I had 3 EKG, blood tests, chest xrays and a CT scan. And then they kept me for an additional 6 hrs for observation. I have to say, I was pretty impressed overall. Guess I lucked out.

But I do remember the long sleepless nights when we used to take the kids to the children's ER. That was nuts.

Here in the US for me right now , parking is free at the hospital and most of the larger ones have free valet service. Been having a ticker problem so I was sent for a CT Calcium Score (12/17/24 $100.00), Echo Gram (12/23/24 $75.00), an upcoming Nuclear Stress Test (1/7/25 $150.00), and last but not least a follow-up with the Cardiologist (1/21/25 $35.00).
