View Full Version : FEC 3/4A, meaning? Bell 91 TP's changes.

We found out that to get the changed TP's on 91 West Nimiq 6 that in the SV8000HD you need to set the mode to Turbo8PSK, symbol rate to 21500 and the FEC to 3/4A.

Does anyone know what FEC (Forward Error Correction) of 3/4A means, electronically? Usually all FEC are expressed as a fraction.
Does anyone know what 3/4A the "A" actually means? I wonder if it's some sort of special notation or method related to proprietary Turbo8PSK used by DIK n BEV. :tehe:

Reason I ask is I am updating lyngsat and he asked. I think the "A" must be related to the FEC method used in Turbo8PSK and that is just how SV expressed it as 3/4A. It's probably some non-standard FEC used in Turbo.

Anyway Lyngsat is being update to say just 3/4 not 3/4A.
