Any update on fixing “catch up” for Buzz player v5.0.799 when logging in using XC API?
The private wickedTV APK works fine on the 288 known catch-up channels and also the “Smarters Player” app on my iPhone works well too.
Still get the “media format not supported” error message when using my Buzz 4500 running v 5.0.799 to view the Catch-up channels via the guide.
Do MAC logins also have this problem?

You need to change your stream type to HLS for it to work in the configuration menu (last option).

Ok I’ll try and switch it back to HLS from default setting: TS
I had it already streaming on HLS for several days since the “fix” was announced, but yesterday Buzz streamed down a new update to v5.0.799 which I think reverted it back to TS stream setting.
Either way, I’ll switch it back and let you know

What’s the advantages and/or differences if we stream HLS instead of TS moving forward with our service, if any since it’s NOT the default setting for a Buzz 4500?

Five days ago I think the Buzz developers fixed the “catch up” bug on HLS only on v5.0.798 but then yesterday they sent
another quick update to some boxes updating them v5.0.799 to patch a VOD red button issue.
So if you get the v5.0.799 update this weekend you may have to reset it to HLS again to fix “catch-up”

- Renamed Loading animation on TV Series
So sat9182 was right all along, the problem was not our server, but that update to buzz software v5.0 that disabled TS streaming of catch-up and thus they patched it to stream via HLS only.
Still do NOT fully understand the implications this will have with our service and Stream Player when streaming a new setting that is no longer the default option: TS
Their discussion forum is unclear on this subject

Just a typo, I’ll fix it above and yes this is a good thread to post it, because we don’t want sat9182 wasting his time trying to patch something that is not a server related issue. Significant server changes with two concurrent buzz softwares updates had everyone guessing.
Also,
Be advised the Smarters player and also our WickedAPK both are behind exactly five hours when selecting a Catch-up Channel. I recall reading the EPG was being fixed for Live Channels but does this affect Catchup differently?
Anyone else have this problem or perhaps find a solution for correct the time offset or is this another bug in the v5.0.799 software or is related to our WickedTV login method?

Ok after yesterdays newly released buzz 5.0.799 reverted my box back to TS default streaming, I switched to HLS as recommended and that partially fixed the Catchup issue.
The events stream between 6.5-7.5 hours behind the EPG, which also affects the WickedTV APK and 3rd party App: Smarters by the same exact time differential.
Clear EPG cache did not help.
Since this affecting all three methods equally is this a server EPG in progress issue?
Will attempt different offsets as opposed to “auto setting” to see if that helps.
Has anyone had this synchronization issue just on the 288 known Catch-ups?

Has anyone else noticed that the Catchup channels are behind now behind exactly 7.5 hours?
It affects equally: APK, Smarters Player for iPhone, buzz v5.0.799
Changing stream formats (HLS, TS) or EPG time shift makes no difference.
You will not be able to select any scheduled catch-up event without first Fast Forwarding manually 30 minutes exactly from an older event 7 hours previously, which makes catch-up hard to select any event in all three testing methods.
I tested this on three different boxes at different locations and the results are always identical and selecting default /secondary players or external VLC did not help either.
Is there a work around to 7.5 hour latency in the catch-up selection guide?
So it’s not a buzz issue, and it started immediately after the Provider server upgrades; logged in using username/PW

Not saying there isn't an issue. There is still issues with wicked catch-up. Buzz issued a fix/workaround for one of the issues (using the HLS stream format). However, the issues you are experiencing now, are no buzz issues.
But spamming every single thread you can think of, is not going to get it fixed any faster.
You even state "...it’s not a buzz issue...", then why do you spam buzz threads. You spam every thread, like a child whining about his toys, then people will just ignore you even more. Keep it focused to the correct forum. And instead of just complaining, give solid examples for people to be able to replicate it. A single clear example is often enough to be able to identify and correct a bigger underlying issue.
I don't use catchup too much so I will refrain from providing any examples.

I think they fixed today the 7 hour EPG lag on the 293 “catch-up” channels. All of them work perfect now thank you sat9182.
It was a combination server and HLS streaming issue, but the EPG lag was fixed today.
“catchup” is a great and underutilized option for missed live sporting events and national network news broadcasts on the current 293 channels and growing.
Tested on my 4500 using buzz 5.0.799 software and Wicked APK; however Smarters player Lite is a bit buggy and although synchronized correctly with the catch-up EPG it loses audio once the event starts, suggesting that’s an app specific issue.

FYI: PlutoTV Live channels now work with primary player selected since the update v5.0.799 a few days ago and has now better resolution and channels change faster
