They were declassified and the president de-classified them before he left,... just like Hillary did with her server in the basement.

I thought we were supposed to keep the political chatter out of the messages.

Everybody has their own opinion, and sorry I hijacked the thread mod.

Everyone on that school district board should be paddled. What a bunch of friggin morons. The first one to paddle a child should go straight to jail.

Probably most of us older folks got paddled or strapped when we were kids in school, even father would swing his belt when I deserved it. It didn't scar me emotionally for life but did teach me there are consequences to bad behavior and teaches respect among other things. I think our generation grew up with better ethics and civility knowing that life is not a free ride unlike the kids today.

Some mild corporal punishment when needed builds character.

(OK, now you can flame me) :tape:

I'm not going to flame you...I'm going to agree with you.Every single time I got disciplined I deserved it.After awhile, I figured it out, I guess, because I settled down.I don't think there's any place for foe "paddling" , but light discipline like light strapping worked for me , & many I know.WE grew up in a Cathlolic setting schooled my mean bitch nuns, or so it seemed at the time, who were a little quick on the draw.Did me more good than harm in the long run. There has to be some sort of halfway. From what I here, a little discipline is sadly needed in the school systems today.

The word "Respect" comes to mind & this sentence, Some mild corporal punishment when needed builds character & Respect
Nowadays theirs No respect in the world, (for elders, fellow man/women, Property etc.) Some feel that everything is owed to them
or should be given without having to work for it & the like. Bleeding Heart mentality

I was not making a judgement on our pasts. We cannot judge what we suffered 50+ years ago by/from people living in a completely different world from today.

However as we have aged with all the lessons that we did learn on the paths that we followed I seriously do not see anyone that I know that would support this idiotic use of physical abuse ... certainly not on my child or grandchildren.

There are many many ways that are in place today to teach children the do's and do nots and rights and wrongs in today's world. Paddling children in schools today creates a lot different people as they are living in a totally different world.

Nothing but damage would be created today.

It's not "physical abuse", it is discipline.

The only reason "damage would be created today" is because the kids have been getting a free ticket to do whatever they want without fear of discipline or repercussion.

As the Noof stated above, discipline made him a better person and I certainly can identify with that.

As adults, where would we be if there were no consequences for not abiding by the rules, that's why there are laws and consequences for not following them.

 I do not know what you are looking at but to me it is a physical beating. This is no different than the idiotic Supreme Court decision on Wade.

I do not know how many kids that you know but I know none that are as you are describing. Sure ... there is abuse and free rides but they are/were all caused by parents who do not know how to parent.

That is the simple reason to do away with that idiocy. If the kids are misbehaving ... paddle the parents not the kids.

If you think a paddle on the butt is a physical beating... you have no idea what a beating is. :beatin_horse:

Sooooooooo, it's ok to discipline parents for their kids actions but the kid gets away with it regardless of how he got screwed up because we don't want to scar the poor little thing by slapping his butt. :liang: This is typical of parents today, no kid is responsible for his own actions, it must be the parents fault.

Seems to me the logic of todays parents is the catalyst of the screwed up kids these days.
