I asked this question before but got no response. I am 76 years old and have always relied on a Technician to solve my problems. My Technician has now moved away and I am on my own for now. I have 3 K Boxes and just purchased a Nano2 last week. Through the great assistance of n3uspeed2 my Nano is workin but I am getting limited chanels. You should have a directory of abreviations because I get confused with the DP, LNB, T.P, S&Q, STB, DNS, IKS, IP. They tell me you are never too old to learn So here I go. Thank All You People on this Forum for all your help

Hi Mel, just to let you know IKS does not open all the channels.. No locals are available for one. PPV are available occasionaly and on weekends only..
I just started a new thread for you mel, your questins where not really in the right area..
Now in regards to the abreviations..
DP refers to a specific type of switch to select various dishes or LNB's.
LNB is the antenna or eye that points at the dish and receives the signal.
TP Transponder, the transmiter on the sattelite that sends the signal..
S&Q S is Signal it indicates the conection quality in the wiring, switches..
Q is Quality or strenght of signal.
STB Set Top Box or fta receiver..
DNS is the numerical adress of a site on the internet.
IKS Internet Key Sharing ( well you must know what that is, its the encryption decoding)
IP a users adress on the internet.
I hope that answers the questions , you can always look up more details on each abreviation on the web.. Wikipedia for one is a reasonable read..
