an American construction worker fell off a ladder and landed face first on a 1.5 inch drill bit that went through his left eye and out at the back of his skull.
He did not lose any of his cognitive ability as the a drill bit “pushed his brain out of the way.” Doctors struggled to find a solution to remove the foreign object from his skull and contemplated simply cutting it off. They decided to simply unscrew it and Ron Hunt was entirely conscious during the operation.
