My good friend whom always set me up, has passed away. His notes to me are not the clearest. I cant hook to the server. I was given a new code but I am obviously not entering my info properly. On server set up it asks for password? is this my user name or my new code?? also my des key starts at 01 up to 13 and there is still one more space left. do i start at 00 or do i enter 14 or just not put anything there. Should someone be able to help ( I think anyone can help me ) please do. Thanks

User/password are assigned by your service provider & entered in the user/password dialogue boxes..DES key starts/ends with 01/14 for most providers. You didn't mention the service name.

I have a Dreamlink T5. I also must apologize, I am 67 and not the best on computers....I had hair when computers first started coming out! On the server set up screen it asks for Password. My friend wrote down my username on the piece of paper he left me , nothing saying password. So the new code I was given will be the password I enter on the Server setup screen?

if he only gave you a username it is probably used for both username and password field
des_key: 0102030405060708091011121314 that is standardized deskey

For T5:
Hit menu button on remote
Go to configuration
Go to network.Make sure it's set to DHCP.
Press blue button on remote
Enter access password, default is 0000.
in line one enter your server name.I use the server urll.Press OK.(it would help if we knew what service you have).
Type in the i.p address of your server
Type in the port # of your server, probably 12345
Type in the I.D assigned to you (user name)
Type in the password (usually the same as the user name)
Type in DES key (usually 0102030405060708091011121314)
Press red button on remote to save
That takes you back to server setup screen..Click OK
Click on OK (last line)
Exit & watch 400 channels of nothing.

is it north (bev) or south (dn)
there is a few well known north and south iks providers out there
if we know a little bit more I am sure we can help you better
a lot of people here have tried them all and with little more info like the url and or name of the service may help you get back up and running easier

No, unfortunately computers aren't my strength, ( I don't have any strengths) I can get to Server setup okay. I am on DHCP , my problem is once I get to 1.sat9182.xyz is entering the right info. i know my IP Address, i know the port, its where it asks for ID and Password that I must be failing. What are they looking for in ID, is it my winnipegjets user name, or is it the new code that Sat9182 gave me, or is it still my old code? Also what are they looking for in Password? I think once I get those issues solved ( yes, I have many issues) I might get up and running!

SAT9182 has posted in this thread. Why don't you message him & ask for a user name (same as i.d.)/password (same as your user name) that is very easy for you to input. You are on the right track.Don't throw in the towel just yet bro. There's 1 of 3 things keeping you from success:
(1) you're inputting the wrong data
(2) you're not saving the data correctly before you try to connect
(3) there's a problem with your account on the providers end.

You should have been given a user name/password by the entity that you gave your hard earned money to.If it was only 1 phrase & not 2 different phrases, then the single phrase you were given is both the user name (which is entered under I.D. heading) & password. If you like, send me what ever you have via p.m. & I will try to configure it in such a way that you understand it.I can also try it from my end on my T5 to make sure the trouble is either on your end or the providers end.

Update:I punched his data as he gave it to me & it would not connect. I change the lower case "i" to a number "1" in his user/password & it connected first try.He may just have a syntax issue.

I'm pretty sure the id is in hex
there is no i in hex
