Sidney Poitier dead

(CNN)Sidney Poitier, whose elegant bearing and principled onscreen characters made him Hollywood's first Black movie star and the first Black man to win the best actor Oscar, has died. He was 94.

Clint Watson, press secretary for the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, confirmed to CNN that Poitier died Thursday evening.

He must have been some man ,, he championed the color barrier in Hollywood
Won many film awards including first black actor to win an academy award
later in life he was awarded the Presidential medal of Freedom ,, plus much more
and without a racial or sexual blemish in a 70 year career --- much respect Sir Poitier
