Hi guys!
I been out of the loop for quite a while.
I have been reading a lot of posts on what is what on Sat systems. There is so much info and so much that takes you in ten different directions.
I tossed a lot of old hardware not to long ago figuring its all useless.. kinda made me sad.. lol
Just a question for anyone that could chime in..
I was just wondering?? if you had to start from scratch today.. to set up a FTA ,C-band or PowerVu system or an IKS..??
What would be the best route to go.. I don't mind getting new hardware or doing some more reading..
I don't want my hand held.. just a nudge to go in a productive direction would be appreciated..
Thanks in advance.

I always liked my viewsatMAX (with HD TP's updated) and my 33 inch dish with motor and using a INVACOM QUAD QPH031 lnb. I still have it and might just bring it out one day to play with.

c band... if you have a Bud use it. If you don't than find. Don't buy new.. fcc auctioning a lot of that spectrum for 5g soon. 1.2m ku dish motorized also useful.

I've put my dishes away for winter, i've only kept 2 for 91+82 and 110+119 with my linkbox 9000i and freesat v7hd.
Last summer i had a 6ft solid dish for c band! It's awesome but if i had to make a choice i would stick to iks.
If you want a cheap system and a good choice of programming i would get an 18" dish + freesat v7hd.

A lot depends on what size dishes you have

Thanks for all the replies folks.. I appreciate the help..
Ive really missed having a sat system and all the fun that goes with the set up and building interface cables and software updates and all.
I still have a 18" with dual LNB..
I will probly have to order a new STB. I'll check the ones mentioned in here..
I tossed a lot of stuff. I really didn't think anything was up..
Where does one find firmware these days for said STB's? I have a large list of old site that are long gone..
I'll see what I can find for STB and check back in.
Thanks again for the friendly nudge..
Regards
J

The GT Media V8's are nice receivers and cheap too.
