ROKU is dead.. You need to get another box.

Haha...Roku is far from dead. It's just not an android box.

The roku people are quick to come down on illegal channels, but I think some of the iptv providers have a way to sideload the roku that circumvents it.

You can side load roku and then within a short while the channel will be blacklisted and your roku account will be dead so you will need to make a new roku account with a new email to re link the roku after you reset it...
Each new app that is added to roku.com will need to now pass certain criteria to not be blacklisted..
It just ends up being a big waste of time when a good android box costs around $40.

Yeah I am going to give up. Just can not get the app to open. Thought maybe I could get someone to try it also. Later
I'm replying to this over a cup of coffee.
Roku and other streaming boxes report back your configurations and traffic.
I've also found that a few iptv apps have been suddenly deactivated by Roku.
I'm currently working on collecting my own info to block my Roku 3 from talking back to them through router configurations.
It seems it's possible. And workable.
Currently running an Asus router running Asus Merlin custom firmware.
I have DD-WRT firmware on a couple of other routers. Firmware like these opens up a lot of possibilities on routers.
So far I haven't been blacklisted through Roku and that's a good thing because my buddy put his Netflix credentials in my box.
But Roku and Apple and other streamers have you hooked in their belt loop.
You'll notice that the Roku doesn't let you assign a fixed IP address. Or change the MAC address.
That assures that it can always talk back to them in a normal situation.
And as far as I know as of today, you're only allowed one sideload app on them.
A streaming box other than Roku will open up more possibilities and get rid of many headaches. But they do (Roku) have their uses.
Even a Firestick or Fire TV opens up more possibilities for streaming than my Roku 3.
Plus being able to add Kodi is a big plus on them.
I'm a bit stubborn in realizing that once I figure out the limitations of the "in your face" retail store streamers that are out there, it's usually too late to return them. Such was the situation of an Apple TV 3 which I got to use only after being out on assignment for 3 weeks. A week too late to return it when I found you weren't able to jailbreak them at the time.
I'd be willing to try your app. But a bit leary of losing my Netflix that my friend is kindly letting me use.

Hey Arlo I sent you a PM but do not try this if you think it will mess up your Roku. Give it a look and thanks!!!

Even if you block the roku from accepting updates it will eventually not work unless it gets an update to its sofware.

At one point, the iptv provider "Radiosity" had a way to sideload the Roku:not sure it still works.Might be worth contacting them. They are at this site still I believe.
I had a sub using Radiosity on my Roku 3. Kept getting kicked out by Roku and had to use another version of it a few times.
It's really a pain to install an app in dev mode and have it die suddenly when Roku blacklists it.
