Unit becomes sluggish and video jerky

Hi I have an XPL 3000 and 2000 and both seem to have the same issue. Every day after watching TV I notice the unit becomes sluggish and the video becomes jerky. I get the same issue with all my IPTV providers. If I do a reboot of the box using the reboot function this fixes everything. Over more viewing the problems keeps reappearing. How can I fix this one issue as I love the box and I don't want to have to buy another box brand.

I might have figured it out I did all the things your recommended but I still notice video being jerky. If I’m watching CNBC the ticker tape on the bottom of the screen seems jerky. I changed the video player from default to internal and now the video is much better. Has anyone else noticed the same?

With the 2000 you will get issues depending on the iptv provider, these guys have stepped up and I notice the 2000 especially cannot handle the streams without stuttering.

The 3000 is best used with default, secondary or "old" default players.

The ticker at the bottom of these news channels will be jerky depending on the iptv service as well. The better quality the stream from the iptv side, the smoother you will see the ticker.

Have you installed a number of apps on the 3000? What version buzz app do you have installed? Hit menu button, look at bottom of sidebar.

Default video player seems a little buggy at the moment. It has a bunch of new codecs which is nice, but its not 100% yet.
I recommend the old player for now.

I have a few boxes 3000 and 2000 all have the same issues and I have tested with 3 IPTV providers using all my boxes and using Apple TV. No issues on my Apple TV. The internal player is working now perfectly no jerky video stream and not hogging memory. The newest player was making the units sluggish the mire I used it. I have only Morpheus installed now. I uninsalled Kodi, utube,Netflicks as I don’t use them. The version of Buzz App is now 2.0(211)

Actually on the XPL3000, I found that was a problem if I kept the power button as a "sleep" function. Now that my power button is redefined to truly a "shutdown", I have not experienced any of those issues. So when the box goes to sleep, and subsequently it comes out, there is some strange behaviors I find. Since I now shutdown all the time (instead of just sleep), yes it takes about an extra minute to boot, but I find everything is a lot more stable.
Unfortunately, I didn't see any improvement on that aspect with the latest buzztv app update. It may be OS related, so not holding my breath, but not a deal breaker.

Hi thank you for your advice that seems to have been the problem from the start. I always thought when it turns off its turned off but actually it was in sleep mode so memory was being retained vs cleared. I am using a Harmony remote and the issue is when I push the off button it assumes I am pushing the off button on the buzz remote. I never knew the off button on the buzz remote was really a sleep mode not a full shut down. Is there any way to turn off the buzz box using the off button without holding it down and scrolling down. As my harmony remote only knows off and on with the off button.

You can also change the behavior of the power button.
To change the behavior of the power button, go to Apps->Droid Settings->Powerkey behaviour, and you can change the default behavior to be a shutdown. So then when you hit the power button, it actually shuts down, not sleep mode.

Thank you this worked perfectly changing the behavior settings of the power bottom. Does anyone know how to do the same for the Buzz XPL 2000. I can’t find anywhere to do it ?
