Xpl3000 identity?

Guys I need to reach out for some help here,
In short I need a way to identify this box, particularly the model of xpl3000 it is.

What I can tell you is this,


On the about screen
Model Buzztv xpl3000
Version 7.1.2
Black colour
It has an antenna for wifi and an Ethernet it does work on 2.4 and 5 G wifi band
On the internal storage of the PVR it says 4.28 Gbs

Software on main menus says
Version 1.6. (162) 08/07/2018

Hope that narrows it down.

Was there different 2018 models with different internal storage? The guy I’m talkin with says there’s a 16gig internal model also.

have never heard of them having 16gb

There is an XPL 3000 and XPL 3000 Basic. Both are 8GB internal storage.. (4.x GB free, since it is shared with the OS)
The XPL 3000 has 2GB of RAM and XPL 3000 Basic has 1GB.

Only way they have extra storage is if he has installed a MicroSD card and formatted it as internal storage. But that's not "truly" a 16GB.

And I wouldn't use the internal memory for PVR anyhow (at least not if you use it extensively). Its using eMMC for the 8GB storage, and no point in putting any extra wear and tear on that since it is soldered into the unit and not replaceable. Use either a preformatted microSD card, or a USB stick or Drive. At least if they fail, they can easily be replaced, with no harm done.
