XPL 3000 BASIC'S WILL GET THE UPDATE FIRST STARTING ON DEC 17TH, ALL REMAINING UNITS WILL RECEIVE THE UPDATE LATER IN THE WEEK.

Does anyone know what exactly changed with the Auto Shut off feature? Did they finally add the magbox feature where the box goes to sleep/wake when tv is turned off/on?

it just wasn't in configuration section before
it's for the app not the box obviously

Auto shut off feature was always there but you can go to Droid settings to turn on the specific feature you mentioned, I think it's under HDMI setting.

This was my first update using a buzz tv box. The update caused me a lot of problems first install. It removed my ability to VOD, would loop me back to iPTV after I ok'd a movie to play. Also the update was forced on me given the announcement would not self remove itself and further if I cancelled it I got kicked back to the home page.
Thankfully I got great after purchase support and with their help was able to get back to enjoying TV. I basically had to reset the box, clearing everything and then allow it to re-download whatever it needed to. T his kind of fix things but then update push annoucement reappeared over and over again as before. I finally gave in and started the install again of this update and again waited 15 minnutes before turning it back on. I've had a few freezes not normally experienced but after about an hour it seems to have recovered running correctly.
Thank you for the update it has been helpful and user interface easier.

Auto shut off feature was always there but you can go to Droid settings to turn on the specific feature you mentioned, I think it's under HDMI setting.
But is it not limited to a minimum of 2 hours? AFAIK, there is no option to auto exit the app or auto shut off when tv is turned off.
Mag box, known as a crappy one, has this feature :thumbsup:

This should not be turned into a comparison match but if the mag gives you that luxury then that is good. If I'm leaving home, I switch off my TV set and I'm out through the door, could care less if my app is still running or if unit is on. When I return and switch my TV on I know my buzz unit is ready to serve.
But like I said earlier, if you go to Droid settings, and look under hdmi CEC, there is an option there that allows unit to switch off/on when you turn TV set on/off. I tried it before but now I just leave my unit running.....

I leave mine on never but you can set it to 1 to 10 hours

I had hoped it would resolve but it has not.... when I enter OK, on a VOD selected movie, the next screen shows multiple loading then I'm redirected back to IPTV live.
One time only did the selected movie load to play but in the preview window of the IPTV. I've lost my VOD post update.

Everyone's experience is different and does not mean something is wrong with your unit. Glad you took the update and everything is working well
Exactly...7 boxes updates yesterday in total and 2 of them did not update like the others. I had to go under the buzztv2 app to update whereas the other 5 boxes I was able to update from the main menu.
Not all updates will be the same for everyone.

I uninstalled all updates, then 3 different updates downloaded. v210 is what I have now. It worked on my 2017 box, not the 2018 box.

Getting "unknown video format" on new xbl 3000 with the update. Everytime I change the channel that comes and 20 to 30 seconds later the channel comes on. This is happening with IPGUYS. Everything works fine on Goldtv. Anyone else experiencing this?

Try switching the Player to Old

The updates are slowly rolling out to all boxes
That is why you're getting no updates available right now. You should get it by Fri though
As for streams restarting. This is normally an issue with the server you're using and those specific channels.
I've seen this happen on Mag 322 as well.

This is basically just a sleep timer for the app
Some users don't have unlimited bandwidth. So they use the auto shut off feature to set a timer to turn off the app in case they fall asleep while watching tv and want to save bandwidth.
Some streams can use up to 1.5GB per hour of bandwidth while watching Live TV or a Movie, this depends on the bit rate/picture quality of the stream.

OMG. just checked updates and default and secondary have been improved. Internal not effective on vod. Also can change players while on vod. All working now.

I just finished tuning into two different movies in VOD on OK3, asked another person to try on OK2, and it worked flawless for me. I'm not a VOD enthusiast and do not use it but the movies played just fine. I did not get kicked out of it either and I tried both default and secondary player.

Very new Buzz User....is 7.1 the version of android you are referring to? My box is literally 2 days old. Using menu--> update I get "NO updates available" and using Setting--> Update, I get "connect service Fail"

In live TV mode press menu Scroll down to check update It will tell you if it is available for you yet

you just have to be patient and wait for your box to get the update

Well, if it takes a few days, no biggie. Its the late 2017 6.0 android version so maybe itll be the last to get it. Ill wait a few days and try uninstall updates.

maybe you need to exit from live tv by using exit option in menu of live tv. then reboot.

No matter what the user tries, the update will get to each unit eventually. Just be patient

They said that by Friday everybody should get it but I haven't yet. OK. I am willing to be patient, but how long can it take?: one, two weeks?

Unless someone here is actually a buzz insider, no one can answer that question. I am in the same boat. I will be patient and test the old code. That will give me much more appreciation for the new code :)

If it did not get to your unit on Friday, can't you hold on until Saturday, Sunday, Monday....... maybe Tuesday? Take you time and don't work yourself up..... the update is guaranteed to reach your unit.

( Using the live TV app it says "No update available".)
The message only started like 3 days ago. Maybe they stopped pushing updates for now or sever is down.

you have to wait until your mac addy is in the group to be updated
my guess is there's so many boxes they underestimated the time it would take

Also if you just recently bought the box its going to take abit before the system realizes its been sold and is active.
So the update wont show right away but thats a small price to pay for a improved box and experience. :)

You are using the incorrect option to get the update. Where you are doing this is for firmware updates only and will always show "connect service fail" when there is no firmware update.
The update that is released is for the Buzztv2 app.
In LIVE TV, hit the menu button and scroll to "check updates", hopefully it has been sent to your unit.

Ok this is weird but it looks like there a problem with the updating.
There seem to be quite a few reports of some boxes not getting the update which after a week shouldn't be the case.
At this point the load on the update server should be low due to a week having passed since it came out.
Looks like something broke or they pulled the update for some reason.

Looks like there a problem with the favorites on some revisions and the update may have got pulled.
Since we haven't heard anything from them it likely there a problem.
Hardly the first time this has happened and they always fix any issues so there well be a update eventually.

I have finally received the update and I am happy to report that the PVR function, about which I have been bitching since I got the box, now is working as expected: I have been able to record using scheduled recording and also instant recording. As I explained in other posts, this for me is an essential feature. I did not have any problem either with the VOD function. The catch up sometimes works, sometime doesn't but I guess nothing can be perfect in this life:yes:. On the other hand, I am not sure, though, if this is a problem of the box, the reseller or the TV channels. But I can live with that.

The only flaw I have with the update (also a buddy has same issue so Im not the only one) is that when Im in my favourites list and I use the epg, it ends up showing all channels from the 'English' category. I then have to hit the 'ok' button and go back into my favourites again. Kinda like it wont stay in the 'favourite' category. Also, while in the 'favourites', it shows some of my channels that I have listed and they dont have the star beside them.

Must be frustrating for you but it has been noted by another member in a previous thread. It has been passed onto the buzz team to have it fixed so just hang in there bud.

Received the red 3000 as a present and love it.
I've been able to get past most of my issues using this forum (:thumbsup:) but still can not get PVR to work.
It has updated (now 211) but when a recording has finished, the file size is 0 (using internal storage).
The only thing I have seen unusual is when I go to file manager, it says there is a permissions issue.

go into your permissions settings and make sure you have enabled access to storage device

If I were you I would use a flash drive, SD card or external hard drive........ Gives you more storage and allows the internal space to be used by installed apps etc etc.

Also, make sure that under menu->configuration, you are using the "default" player. The Secondary, and internal will not work with PVR functions. I think the old will work also, but may as well just use the default.

Yes, default and old default is recommended for PVR. Choosing the other two will give you pop-up stating PVR will not work using the particular player.

Not really frustrating, just have to hit a few extra buttons until the problem is solved. Sure it will be addressed in time.

go into your permissions settings and make sure you have enabled access to storage device

I have been trying the default, but I think the problem is during the recording.
I've tried internal and external storage (including an NTFS formatted USB) and the recording file is created but the size is always zero.
The PVR menu shows it scheduled and then after it displays as recorded... with the complete file name.
The file timestamp is the start of the recording... seems it doesn't update the file during recording or at the end.

This was my first update using a buzz tv box. The update caused me a lot of problems first install. It removed my ability to VOD, would loop me back to iPTV after I ok'd a movie to play. Also the update was forced on me given the announcement would not self remove itself and further if I cancelled it I got kicked back to the home page.
Thankfully I got great after purchase support and with their help was able to get back to enjoying TV. I basically had to reset the box, clearing everything and then allow it to re-download whatever it needed to. T his kind of fix things but then update push annoucement reappeared over and over again as before. I finally gave in and started the install again of this update and again waited 15 minnutes before turning it back on. I've had a few freezes not normally experienced but after about an hour it seems to have recovered running correctly.
Thank you for the update it has been helpful and user interface easier.
8018 update on buzz 3000 xpl has made it worst vod keeps on loding old movie collection does not work i went back to old firmware it is working fine but screen keeps poping up for new update

Not sure if this issue has been discussed already but since the update, when trying to watch VOD the picture freezes, then fast forwards making it totally frustrating to try to watch any VOD movie. Anything I can do to fix or it it on other end to correct.

buzz group are sending new update very soon ...maybe next week ... so hang tight everyone... thats what they told me. 233 had bugs so they pulled it for new version coming next week.
