I have a prev thread about losing signal when changing channels, now I get nothing and have connections straight from my satellite to the box, have duel LNB with DP plus, would always mess with it till got signal and would work, now getting nothing, hooked up old receiver to try and move dish but nothing moves the signal or quality, was working fine with no different connections, need help please.

No signal....no quality sounds like a bad cable or lnb......

Have you tried useing a different port on the LNB? Also, there is a switch inside that LNB so don't use a diseqc with it as it could cause issues.

I have the two ports on the left and then 1 on right which sez LNB in, have it in the 1st on left, it just boggles me cause working couple days ago, no perfect but would get signal.

You in fact have a DPP Twin LNB. As Maverick stated it does have a built in switch which uses DiSEqC switching. Example: Port#1: 119, Port#2: 110. Also remember that your receiver's dish settings for LNB type must be set to DPP or OSC-DP(something to that effect).

Also important is that your dish system should be grounded. Dish, cables(using 2.5GHz grounding blocks), and any switches(if applicable) are to be grounded using 10ga insulted copper wire to an earth ground. Lack of grounding may explain the lose when changing channels?

If you installed that LNB on the dish a few years ago or longer the first thing I would do is disconnect the coax cable at the LNB and look at the center wire for condition, I have seen that center wire rust badly and even weaken to where it will break off inside the connector.

If that coax wire is clean then my next guess would be with the other guys on the LNB switch may be going bad.

So I guess I would have to take apart the Dish then and check, what do you have to take the eye off or would it be the actual connectors, my dish is pretty old but I will have to do some work then.

you might want to post your whole set-up It might matter what receiver you are using to power the lnb ,Any other stbs?

You may also want to make sure the receiver is shut down with the back switch before removing or connecting/disconnecting anything..
To leave the power on could kill anything from the receiver to the lnb to the internal switches in the LNB.
Cheers

As stated always turn power off in back before any work on lnb or stb. Have you done any bush trimming in the area of the cables? I have seen that a cable can get cut and make contact now and then. Also moving dish around IMHO is a waste of time if you had it working before unless a wind storm could have moved it. Main mast needs to be plumb in both directions also. Do you have anything blocking the path of the dish like trees or bush's that could have grown up? Moving the cable to other port will tell you if it is working. One other thought is to take small cable and stb out to dish and hook it up to see if it could be the cable or if you can run another cable direct from lnb to stb. Just a few thoughts on my end.

I added a zip file on LNB info and types to try and help you out.

Have a cnx nano 2

119w

1

12239

12224 or dishpro worked also

off

off or sw42 1

on

like the prev posts from you guys, which i appreciate, it has to be an lnb issue, have new wire but may be too long like prev stated cause have 50ft. Also clear shot no trees or anything, something is blocking signal from the inside cause not moving at all. Usually would mess with it and would come back but that just may have been the beginning now shot.

I thought the frequency should be 11250 but I could be wrong. Also make sure your lnb is as stated before ocp or what ever it is I am at work and can't check but it was in a previous post the setting. I also aded a zip file of LNB to earlier post for you check it out.

These should be your settings

Satellite - 119
Diseqc - 1
TP Frequency - 12268
LNB - Dishpro1
22Khz Tone - off
Multi-Dish Switch - none
Search Options - all channels
LNB Power - on
(Echostar-7 should appear down by the search button)

Satellite - 110
Diseqc - 2
TP Frequency - 12224
LNB - Dishpro1
22Khz Tone - off
Multi-Dish Switch - none
Search Options - all channels
LNB Power - on
(Echostar-8/10 should appear down by the search button)

P.S. The 1 port on the right side of the LNB is a "IN" port.

Yeah my bad it is 11250 for that you are right, but did not know about the 12268, thats different, is that because of the dish pro plus? Also i will check the thread from prev.

No they moved the tp on 119 to 12268 a few weeks back..You should be fine
as far as 150 feet on the dpp lnb..Also when you run two fta receivers on that type of lnb it should work fine..So you tryed both ports on the working
receiver.

I will try the other port when get home but want to try the 12268 first, otherwise probably just bad dish. thanks for all the help.

DN did move some TP's around, it would be best to delete the 119 sat and rescan again. 12268 is the first cont. TP now and is good to use for checking the signal strength.

If you did this today and you put your settings to the correct lnb type and
switch setting before you scanned. And you are missing channels than your dish may be a bit out of alignment or your lnb is not working correct and
not scanning both Horizontal and vertical tps..Lets see what you come up with after you switch to the other output on the lnb..

If you have an old DN or DTV receiver you can connect to the other lnb output try doing so as it may be that your receiver isn't providing adequate power for the lnb for it to function properly...Just connect other receiver and leave it powered on and see what happens....As for the dormant(no longer working) TPs those need to be moved to the bottom of TP list and then try rescanning

Check if your receiver's TP list needs to be edited, maybe a S/R needs to be edited, if you are missing channels since DN change TP? then your LNB's should be fine, just a re scan, I see after scan you still missing channels, way to coincidence your LNB goes bad when DN changes TP's.....don't you think?

My buddy gave me new LNB's and boom now have signal again but how do you change the TP list? Never did that before. still when scanning only getting 104 channels.

Check with Lyngsat dot com. all the TP's you see there that are not Mpeg4 HD have to be in the TP list of your receiver, in the menu where you do the dish settinngs there you can see all the TP's available for the sat you are setting. 12239 is no longer SD now is HD TP that is why we no longer have quality on that TP, for aiming and sat scan the TP that we need to use is 12269..........Also check your receiver discussions there you can get help from another member that has the same receiver you have and can guide you how to add, edit or delete the TP's................
