Dallas Cowboys starting defensive end Marcus Spears and backup linebacker Steve Octavien signed their tender offers on Tuesday.
Spears, a first-round draft pick in 2005, was tendered at an original draft-pick level of $1.226 million after making $735,000 last season, when he had 25 tackles and a career-high 2.5 sacks. Spears, who started 14 games, also tied a career-high with 16 quarterback pressures.
Octavien, who was a exclusive rights free agent, signed a one-year deal for $470,000. He saw action in 14 games last season and was fourth on the team with 12 special teams tackles.
