Hey guys and gals,

Just wondering if anyone here using Samsung phones received the latest software update and there thoughts on it.

For me with my S6 Edge, its the worst update. Its screwed up so many things i won't waste time listing them.

Anyone else ?

Among many issues i think the worst.....for me anyway is that the LED light does not blink at all when new texts, e-mails or missed calls. I have to open the screen to see if.......Anything has come in.

I have set mine to "sound" notifications

I have assigned a different sound for e-mails and a different one for texts

My light does work ,, I prefer sound, that way I don't have to look at my phone to notice if I get a message

Thanks bro,

Can you confirm.....when you get a chance, if your blue LED light blinks for texts, e-mails or missed calls in your current setup.

Go to "settings"
Then "notifications"
Then scroll to the very bottom
Then "Led Indicator"

Slid the Led Indicator to the "on" position

Really appreciate the tip bro but that's on....I've tried everything i can think of in settings to get the LED light to work again when I've received messages of any kind but the damn blue light won't blink.:noidea:

I think your right ,,, I just sent myself a text from my wife's phone and the LED light didn't come on

I never really used it before but I see now it doesn't work ,,, I guess that feature doesn't work with Nugat and S6

If you, or anyone else figures out a way to fix that please share.

I don't know if this helps ,, but there's a feature called "smart alert"
When checked on it alerts you with a vibration when you pick it up, if you have any messages, or missed calls

Thanks man, yeah, i saw that feature to but unfortunately it still leaves me having to be in contact with the phone to see any notifications.

LOL, I know this may sound petty to some but not having to open the screen or touch the phone at all is very helpful.

Unlike most these days, i don't look at it all day everyday so just looking at it occasionally is preferable.

Wipe cache partition: Samsung Galaxy S 6
Learn how to wipe the Samsung Galaxy S 6 using the hardware keys. If the phone is not working correctly, you may need to master reset it and also clear the cache partition. These two resets clear different parts of the phone storage. Unlike a master reset, wiping the cache partition does not delete your personal data.

Wipe cache partition
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume up, Home, and Power keys together.
When the Samsung Galaxy S 6 logo screen displays, release only the Power key.
When the Android logo displays, release the Volume up and Home keys. 'Installing system update' appears for 30 - 60 seconds, followed by the Android system recovery menu.
Press the Volume down key until 'wipe cache partition' is highlighted.
Press the Power key to select.
Press the Volume down key until 'yes' is highlighted.
Press the Power key to select.
When the wipe cache partition is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
Press the Power key to restart the device.
