Any Network Can Be Accessed
By Cliff Saran | April 1, 2010
Security researchers have uncovered a major flaw in the internet fabric, which
could circumvent network security and allow rogue users to access any
computer on the planet.
According to a research paper published by the academics at the Institute of
Internet Insecurities, the dynamic distributed denial of service attack could be
deployed to enable a user to access all the data on the internet, allowing any
bit, or packet, of information to be sent from any computer to any other
computer in the world in a fault-tolerant manner.
The researchers said the attack is unstoppable, capable of splitting up
information and routing it around the internet, to overcome any obstacle in
its path. At the time of writing, no security patch had been issued.
