Hi guys switched out my jynxbox for Dreamlink T5, because I was going thru jb200's to often. I think it might be a result of the motorised system I have? I am using a 33" dish, with invacom lnb. Problem is, I noticed, the T5 turns the dish very slow, and sometimes clitchy. What is the best setup and bin file for my setup? I think I ran into this way back, but can't recall. The Jynxbox turned the motor no problem and quick. One thing I find annoying is that when you switch sats, and motor is moving, the screen shows the percentage of the motor turning, then it hits a 100% and does the same thing over, is there any way to avoid it doing it a second time? I just lubed up the HH90 motor I use, just in case there was some corrosion.

So, you think that so many folks have the same setup as you that there is a big pool that can answer? Not that many use motors. Not that many have used both jynxbox and the t5. Not that many have flopped between diff files. The old Venn Diagram has limited intersections for your prob, I think.
There might be a few that could trouble shoot your issue a little down in the section that deals with dish hardware.

isn't why we are here, to help others? Your remark sounds a bit on the sarcastic side, am I reading this correct?

Just being realistic in trying to help. Your problem of the display is one that is likely buried in the code--does anyone other than me play with code?--I haven't seen it much. Your question of which file to use is pretty much the same--folks use a file that works for the setup they have and then stop, so they really do not have lots of playing with files in their repertoire. Motors covered in prev post.

And as for the jynxbox issue with tuner--the solution is to use Az Link sw from what I read. Box runs cooler and that is the issue with tuner failure. So, rather than try to make the T5 run like the jynxbox, just fix the jynxbox.

thanks Jvvh5897. I am not one of those guys that has the knowledge to help on coding, just an old FTA guy. I don't have the depth of knowledge you posses. which I did, it would be fun stuff. The Az Link software I will look into, My Jynxbox is a V2, not sure if that works for that box.

I did take a look around what google get with a search for "Dreamlink T5 motor" and nothing really pops out at me as dealing with your issue with motor. I was planing on looking at Dreamlink T4 channel list and sw for other reason--maybe something will come out of that (not sure I will get anywhere--even the channel list seems to have encryption on it).

Not sure if it will help you, but you could look at what the box sends to motor and see if it looks like what one would want. You could split off the coax connection and use a capacitor to DC uncouple the signal--then feed that signal and ground to PC to record as audio. I use something like that and Audacity to record IR signals from remotes as well as diseqc signals using 96K sampling. Just be very sure that you are DC un-coupled and check that there are no ground issues between box and PC.

I'm pretty sure that if you use the most recent file for the box then most issues will be dealt with as well as the coder can do so. But you can pretty much forget about changing any code in the files--I find indications that the old Coolsat coders had something to do with the Dreamlink line and they were very keen on not letting folks mod (similar indications of CS coders as in Kbox models ).
