I was given a dreamlink and don't know what model it is
I opened the cover and it says dreamlink rev 1.3
it has a module but I have not seen one like this
it is red and is connected to the main board with 2 small white connectors
not like the others I have seen with pins
the guy I got it from says he thinks he put the wrong file in it
I plug it in and nothing happens no lights or nothing on the screen
Any thoughts
Thanks

what a shame
they should make a recovery file for those who install an improper file
Oh well well make a good parts box
on a side note strange that a factory file would cause a box to stop all power
one might think the file should be rejected if it were not proper
just saying

thanks for identifying the box for me

there isnt a recovery file...saying made in korea leads me too believe its an original..there was reports of a clone file kill back then for obviously cloned rcvrs...not sayin yours is..nobodyspecial is the guy that would have more info than me..hopefully he chimes in.he's the dreamlink pro...

Loading factory file with cable is the recovery
ask him what file he put on it
I have never heard of anyone bricking a dreamlink by loading wrong file
It usuallys say invalid firmware
Dreamlink never released their clone kill file for the dlhd

thanks kidwicked
the guy I got it from said he did not know what version it was so he tried loading the factory file cause the guy he originally bought it from locked out the server area
after loading factory file which I think may have been the wrong one he said the box went black no lights nothing
so he gave it to me.
Well at least I have a power supply and remote
and a module if some one needs one
thanks for all your input

ok just called him and he still has it on usb stick
he says the file was
DL_HDpvr_factory_106
he says it loaded fine
he says it went to 100% and he waited for a bit of time a good 30 seconds and nothing happened.
He powered off and unplugged the cable and re powered and nothing since that Nothing.

HI , get out the multi-meter and check for voltages first , then start the investigation of ver etc. no voltage = doesn't matter what ver, good luck. Pax

If indeed the box failed after a file load, then odds are the power supply is not to blame--that would be against the odds. If the box uses an 8 pin SPI flash then those are easy to unsolder and reprogram out of box and solder back in.

have no idea what an 8 pin SPI is or looks like
totally understand and I am capable of unsoldering and resoldering
but again have no idea how one would reprogram

you give me some hope after I still call this testing
would you be able to elaborate

I came across the exact same box. Not a t4 or t5. Will the original dreamlink HD old school box work with the current 91 bird or do we still need the t4/t5 box?

I do know for 110,119 we definitely need the t4/t5 with modulation card.
Just want to know about the old school dreamlink HD with version 1.19. Any use for 91?

Thanks
