Quad Vs Duel

Wouldn't mind some opinion's.

I am going to upgrade my box. It just doesn't keep up to me anymore.
Specially now that I have been learning 3dsMax.

All I am going to get is a Board, Cpu, and Ram. Everything else is fine. Problem I am having is do I go with a Phenom quad core 3.4 or a Phenom Duel Core 3.2
I am not sure if the Quad core will even do anything for me for the additional 100 bucks.

Not that 100 bucks is a lot but didn't want to wast it.

My suggestion is to look into the new Corei3, Corei5 and Corei7. For the same amount you are going to spend on Quad core, it will buy you a Corei7, the motherboards will cost you more for the Corei7 but the ones for Corei5 are the same price, you can pickup a Gigabyte motherboard with USB 3.0 for about $129.00 or so.
