World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman has commented of boxing superstar Edwin Valero’s six month enforced stay in a rehab center to deal with alcoholism. Far from taking an action against Valero, the WBC head has further ratified that Valero remains WBC lightweight champion in recess and supports his rehab with the aim to become “an example for the young people of the world, with the determination and courage of a winner and great champion he has been.” Sulaiman, on behalf of the WBC, is also offering whatever is necessary to help Valero in his therapy.
