I just don't know what to think about this box. I have had it for more than 3 yrs I think. South only.
I spent hrs today setting another dish for Sat 129 DN and after scanning it got channel duplicates.
To make the story shorter I deleted all the channels then did a Manual scan one transponder at a time for each sat. Example, Sat 110 went through the transponder list and if it didn't have signal and say it was verified sat 110 at the top right then I did not scan it. Some transponder said it was for example sat 119 so I delete the transponder in each case.
I did this for sats 110 119 129 and still ended up with duplicate channels which show no info on the guide for the duplicate and also show the same channel with different transponders when I hit the info button on the remote twice. Signal in the mid 80's for most transponders. It doesn't affect the viewing only when going through the guide you have to ignore the duplicates that say "no Info"
Has anyone else experiencing this or can anyone comment on what is going on?

I had the same thing with mine, what i did was when i did a scan per Sat. i turned the LNB power off on all
the others not been scaned at the time. Don't know if that will work with your setup but you can try ?

I have found testing the Dreamlink Rec's. that they don't pack alot of power to run all the equipment
that is used now (Dishes, lnb's,switches, long cable runs, etc.) so by adding powered switches, or more rec's. hooked up
to power things, it helps some what

Yes you do need a power inserter or a dp44 with your setup.

The other thing i forgot to mention, is that Heat from the Rec. (Dreamlinks tiny box) Kills or causes issues
What i did with my T4 was added a PC case fan cut into the top of the cowling/cover right over the Power Supply
blowing air down over it, keeping it cooler also helps

Yes I know it gets hot. I have a DN Power inserter hooked up to the LNB port 4 but when hooking up the new dish to get 129 I found the inserter was hooked up backwards thus not doing anything for the last 2 years. I can,t hook it in now because the port #4 is being used for the larger dish so I can get the 129 bird. The 1000.2 will not pick up 129 because I am too far North as it is a weak sat.I only watch for 2-3 hrs max and then turn the T5 off via the switch on the back.

The saga continues. I confirmed my set-up with Terryl.
I have the 1000.2 for sats 110/119 and a second dish for 129 connected to port 4 on the 1000.2 lnb.
I have a DP44 Power Inserter contected to port 1 on the 1000.2 lnb.
I tried scanning each sat with only that sat lnb powered on in the T5 menu and still got duplicated and triplicates.
Here is an example of what's happening:

Channel 9487 (Sat 129) is showing twice in the guide but only showing what's on in the guide once. The other listing in the guide shows "no info".
So I thought that one won't be a working channel but to my surprise both are working showing the same shows but here's what I am most baffled by. One 9487 shows transponder 12.443 H 21.500MS and the other 9487 with the same show on shows transponder 12.457 21.500MS?
So how can that be?

Turn off receiver with remote control after the scan. Look for tp change saving info on screen to pop up. May need to do a couple times

I had the same problem when scanning the north with a T5 - it would show a lot of duplicate channels and also channels with the same name but different channel numbers - like the Descriptive Video channels and the French channels.

My solution was to go into the channel editing and skip the duplicates and other channels that I don't watch. Then go into the parental settings and hide the skipped channels - that way they don't show up in your guide.

Since the channels are skipped you can always do a fresh scan of all satellites whenever you want - since they are already in the channel list they won't be added as a new channel.

Never had an issue with north myself

Don't you get a lot of garbage channels - like all of the Descriptive Video channels that are duplicates - there are also a few duplicate channel numbers on different frequencies.
By the time I get rid of the Descriptive Video channels, the French channels and the 20 or so different CBC, CTV, Global, etc channels from various cities across Canada I end up with about half of what I started with.
To me I hate seeing the garbage channels in the guide that I don't watch or are duplicates of something.

I used to delete them all - but the problem was they would all come back again the next time I did a rescan - so by skipping them they stay hidden out of view :=)

Sounds like you are on a North service but yes I am the same on South with garbage, duplicates etc but some of them I need.
For example before I set up a dish for Sat 129 I got Discovery on Channel 182. I don't think it was in HD and the top and bottom were cut off on my TV. There was no settings I could fix or expand the picture to full screen. Now with the 129 Sat I found Discovery on channel 9487 HD and Full picture.

Just skip and then hide skipped channels that are duplicates or that are not working properly - anything that you want to show up in your guide - don't tag them as skip.
