Had an issue that came up and thought I would post...maybe of help to someone. Been playing around with a used SV8000 and noticed that for some reason it didn't have the rear rubber feet/legs which cause the stb to not sit level. Plus it would restrict the air flow to a point under the stb. So I decide to use a saline bullet in the center under the bottom to level and help with the air flow. Afterwards noticed that for some reason SD would come in but HD would not video wise but audio would. We had recently had an ecm in between and thought that maybe that was the cause but others had said nothing about having the same issue so ruled that out. Thought that maybe it could be bad cable or connection with either the HDMI or component but rules that out. Rebooted stb, router and iHub etc. still SD fine but no HD video wise. Decided to reach into the tv stand and pickup on the stb to check and see if the way the cables were hanging or pulling down on the connections were causing the problem and all of a sudden the HD video popped in. But once I sat it back down the video would freeze and go back out. After a few times trying to figure out the why I noticed if I put slight pressure on the bottom of the stb it would freeze and go back out. So I removed the saline bullet I had placed under the center of the stb and the HD worked as before. The only conclusion I came up with is putting pressure on certain sections on the bottom of the stb would possible cause some sort of short with the mainboard. :noidea: I have since found some rubber compression donuts from a faucet install I didn't use and have put one on either side of the bottom of the stb that are just about right to level and help with the air flow. Go figure.

Even though I had to have the power supply rebuilt on this unit it is still working after almost 10 yrs since it was manufactured. Plus the files have been reworked three times and it really wasn't designed to do iks from the get go. Sadly it has out lived my Prosat which had a lot of potential in my opinion and most recently my Mega tvi. May have tried to rebuild the power supply myself but trying to hold a soldering pen still for me is and almighty trial with my hands.
