Some things that I've been up to that I haven't posted here as far as I recall.
Playing with Directed Randomness to produce images. One image looks kind of like bubbles in beer to me. Also played with building an image from something that looks a bit like audio samples (tst_pline)
Tried to design mechanical arm to sweep out a parabola. Came up with two designs, one has a two-part arm where the lower part of the arm pivots with the top but slides on the upper arm follows a fixed line a specific distance from the pivot and the other design is just a line wrapped on a drum. Both do better than just a circular arm approximation of a parabola. The two part arm work well if the lower arm is ten times the upper and the fixed line is at right angle to the resting arm. The drum seems to work within 2% if you make the drum really big as shown in the example image.
Also played with tessellation of a spherical or parabolic surface. Kind of a neat idea but you have to make so many pieces it really is not practical.
