Order on Motion for Preliminary Injunction


In this action for violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and related statues, Plaintiffs, who operate a satellite television system, filed a motion for a preliminary injunction to prevent Defendants from allegedly distributing pirate software and hardware which enables individuals to view Plaintiffs' satellite programming without subscription. Defendants opposed the motion. For the reasons which follow, Plaintiffs' motion is GRANTED.

I never understood why they chose to connect the company with the Ihub. It would have been better if it had been a third party device, at least in name.

They did everything wrong;
allowed a direct link to their company, didn't develop a viable second use for the IKS server, and couldn't even supply decent descrambling or server access too much of the time.
