Frederik Andersen, a 6’4, 218-pound 26-year-old restricted free agent, is coming off a .919 save percentage season while splitting starts with John Gibson in Anaheim. The Denmark native posted a 22-9-7 record with a 2.30 goals-against-average (GAA) and .919 save-percentage (SV%) in 43 games (37 starts) last season, followed by a 3-2 with a 1.41 GAA and .947 SV% in five playoff starts in the 2016 postseason. Over 125 NHL career games, Andersen’s averaged a .918 save percentage.
The Leafs have given up some of the draft pick capital they’ve accumulated over the past two seasons here in hopes of finding a solution in goal moving forward. The 30th overall pick was previously acquired from Pittsburgh in the Kessel trade.

Well kids it certainly seems like the Leafs are starting to take this NHL thing a little more seriously these days. Trading for a legitimate starter in net is a good start.....only if they now begin to assemble some kind of defense in front of him......something else the Leafs haven`t had for years.
