Any one have or try this box (Android TV BOX MX Pro with a Quad Core ) looks like a decent unit and I can get it really cheap.

lots of boxes available with octa core processors now cheap on ebay from china
most have lolipop for os
but the mx line has been around longer than most any other androids
it should serve you well enough to run kodi and any android apps you want to run on it

why exactly would 1GB ram not be good enough? I do agree that more ram is better but a streaming box doesn't use a whole lot of resources.......or am I missing something>?

extra ram will allow you to open and close apps and programs faster

caching affects ram, most people dont modify the advanced settings.xml file for kodi, as well Android is terrible at utilizing RAM with these types of boxes.

I received my new MXQ Pro Amlogic S905 Andorid 5.1 WIFI BT4.0 1000M LAN Quad Core box yesterday.
Hooked it up yesterday and slapped Kodi 16 on it and man this little box works like a charm so far.
Pretty impressed for $40.
The picture on my 55 inch samsung looks crips and clear.....I'll keep everyone posted.

Good to hear you like it so far. As mentioned above, Android is brutal on RAM so make sure you clean your cache frequently.

I see it says it has 1 gig of memory, but it looks like its a DDR3...
So shouldn't I be able to put more memory in the thing?

No, it's not like a PC. I have 2 MX's (predecessor to the MXQ) and they are just fine if set up properly.

Got mine. Seems to work great. lot of features, and it was about 4 to 5 times the minimum wage in the states for cost.that may give you an idea of cost.

NOW I have to learn how to use and load it. but that is the fun part.
