‘Phoneographer’ Tiziana Vergari recently posted a photo to Instagram that has caused international puzzlement.

The photo, which shows a long line of girls looking at each other, has half of Instagram totally tripping out over how many girls are actually in the image.

How many can you see? Four? Five? Eight?

As you’ve probably worked out by now, it’s none of the above.

Tiziana has confirmed in the comments that it’s actually just two sisters looking into a mirror.

She entered the photo to Instagram’s Weekend Hashtag Project #WHPidentity, which asked community members to submit images celebrating individuality.

Goes to show the reliability of eye witness accounts when that many people cannot tell this is a trick with mirrors.
