Thought this may interest some....

Hi folks....a long time associate/customer of mine just sold this car at the Barrett.I did the engine install, laptop tuning & sound system design/ install on this car.I had forgotten how tough it is working on a car of that caliber...very challenging.lol.He had 310K Canadian invested in this beauty at the time of the auction.Glad I was part of the project.

I'm gonna see if Stevo can send me the build pics, start to finish & post the various stages so you can some idea of the magnitude of a project like this. The chassis is a STUNNING one-of-a-kind,flames plasma cut into the side rails.Magnificent work.
Don't pay any attention the the empty beer bottles.lol

There is no "that's good enough".When the mechanic looks the owner in the eye, & the owner grins from ear to ear,it's done.

Nice looking car Noof. Engine looks like a monster sitting there. LOL

Got a question though, if he had 310K tied up in it why would he sell for 145K?

Barrett auctions are in the US so that would be US dollars. He still took a big loss!

He got 145k u.s. benney, which was over 200k Canadian. It wasn't far off of his mark. The way he sees it,he had nearly 14 years of fun...that's less than 5k a year entertainment. Some people spend more than that on holidays.
How much did we spend on "free tv" ?.lol

Well it certainly wasn't for investment for sure. I can see the fun part though.

Exactly....the true value of the car to it`s builders was in doing the work itself and the sense of accomplishment with the finished product..................it still would be nice to make a couple bucks tho LOL.

The Tri5s are neat but that GMC COE could be flat cool on modern running gear and that trailer behind it. A young man around the corner from me has a all original 57 convertible. it's had the engine and so on rebuilt but it has the numbers all correct and best of all it's the original paint and interior. He knows the value.
