Awesome pics Manny. If your hitting sats on the Atlantic side 11w-58w, a wideband corotor is a must as most sats are circular on the c band side. Norstar lnbs are really good but pricey. Keep us posted Manny.

Thanks Bow,Costa and Andy for the quick response(as usual).I end up cleaning the bow on the antenna and to my surprise it was fill with a yellow jacket nest.Guys,I wonder if some of you can help me with a question on one of these pics? The Lnb that I have in my setup its a C-Band,but,anybody knows what type?I mean its a Chaparral Lnb but what type,1k,3k or 4k?I have been searching around and like Costa said for international birds,I will be better of with a Chaparral Corotor II(its on the plans,of course with the proper Lnb's and the boss permission),and also I would like to know if a Dielectric insert its necessary on this setup? What about a Norsat C-Band 3.7-4.2 Ghz?Can I use the same C-Band lnb or I will be better with another one? What about a Norsat Ku-Band lnb 11.7-12.2 or an Astrotel Ku-Band Superhemt? As you can see guys I'm getting very deep into the Fta and I would like to test as much and good as possible,I know that the sky is the limit, but that's my goal.Once again thanks so much for your help.My best regards.Manny.

The lnb in the pictures looks like one of those old school ones used in the analogue days. How many k is it? Most likely 25, 30 or 40k- have a couple lying around as well. The lnbs you mention are fine but pricey. Finally, with the wideband corotor your doing circular c band , no need for dialectic plate- there usually used on lnbf for circular but that's bs IMO.

From looking at your posted photos it looks like you do have an “old school” Norsat 35* C-band LNB, an up-grade would definitely help.

Not knowing your location I will post my findings from WI.

I have tried many feedhorn/LNB combos, I found the extra cost of the higher graded brands didn’t improve quality compared to cost.

For my installs I look for a low degree C-band LNB (16* or less), and a low dB Ku LNB (.6db or less).
I may get grief for this, but I feel the LNBF’s are not worth the time, a much better system is obtained using a feedhorn/LNB combo on your BUD.

This is what goes on most of my 10' BUD setups:
Chaparral Corotor II Plus: C-band/Ku feedhorn.
For C-band Astrotel 15 degree
For Ku Astrotel .5dB Ku

For dish’s less than 10' Ku reception is sketchy here in WI. and this is what’s installed.
Chaparral C-band feedhorn.
Astrotel 15 degree LNB.

The Astrotel LNB’s are cheap, but they do work.
daveswebshop.com carried them but I don’t know if the site is still selling?

Good Luck,
Gizz
