A few fights have passed since we've been down most recent and notably
Alvarez vs. Cotto and Klitzcho vs. The Goon from England the New Heavy Weight
Champion of the World!

I expected the Cotto fight to go the way it did.Canelo was bigger and younger
but not that impressive took Cotto`s body out though which is the best strategy.
Cotto and the roach should retire and live happily ever after.Ok Cotto how about clean
up your wifes act what a pig!

Klitzcho got a bit of his own medicine from a bigger, younger opponent with a wingspan greater than a 747!
What a goon! This fight put a stain on the Klitzcho bros. career fighting smaller opponets on their own soil.
Klitzcho should have retired with his brother but i`m sure will fight again to save face.

WELCOME BACK SATFIX

hey buddy !! nice to see the boys back in town ...

alvarez is now the man ,, he went in prepared and with a the right game plan
sounds like his next opponent is 3G's ... he will be 3G's toughest opponent to date,, can't wait !!

Klitzchko and Fury ,,,, eeeeeeehh ,, does anybody really care ?? LOL
Klitzchko should retire , good bye and good ridings, he had his run and now it's so long happy trails

and if there's a rematch ,,, eeeeeeehh ,, who cares,, WHAT A SLEEPER the first one was, I had time to
make me a Fred Flintstone size sandwich between the time either of them raised their glove and threw
a punch

Nice to see u TLG what was in the sandwich???It certainly was a boring fight. It seems like Canelo is in no hurry to face triple G!If and when this fight happens GGG will ko Canelo by the 10 round when Canelo runs out of gas....
Canelo doesnt have the skills GGG does in my opinion.

I agree ,, but then again it doesn't seem like anyone has 3G's skills ,, in his last fight he took apart Lemieux
wth the precision of a surgeon on a tumor,,, he fights with awesome perfection ,, can't think of anyone past
or present with such ring smarts, technique and punching power all in one package ... the closest would have
to be a young PBF

It was a brontoburger of coarse ,,,,, Yabadabadoooo!!!!!

Did Daniel Jacobs leapfrog Canelo Alvarez in the middleweight rankings with his destruction of Peter Quillin?

https://cdn3.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/HQbG1YqxS6yQ1IdtVSbHANRhXEM=/0x417:2888x2342/2400x1600/filters:format(webp)/cdn0.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/47812891/GettyImages-500127646.0.jpg

However you feel about the stoppage in last night's Daniel Jacobs-Peter Quillin fight, the fact is that Jacobs stopped Quillin in a minute and a half, in a fight that was seen as 50-50 on paper. And my personal view is that if referee Harvey Dock had let the fight go on any further, it was a near lock that Jacobs was going to finish that fight in round one, what with Quillin out on his feet, getting battered, and Jacobs fully committed to stopping his badly hurt opponent.

So we now have a somewhat interesting question on our hands: what's the REAL best fight at middleweight?

The biggest is Canelo Alvarez against Gennady Golovkin. In all reality, the second biggest is probably Canelo Alvarez vs Daniel Jacobs now, because Alvarez carries a lot more star power than either of those guys.

But what about the best? That's not as clear -- or maybe it is.

Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KO) had the big win over Miguel Cotto on November 21, but it wasn't a middleweight fight. With a 155-pound catchweight, the two agreed to fight with a limit a pound north of junior middleweight, and a full five below the 160-pound middleweight limit.

I'm not here to complain about catchweights. Both guys agreed to it and were in good shape. The fight was a hit, both looked solid on the night, and Canelo won, fair and square.

Whether it proved anything about Alvarez as a middleweight is another story. Cotto isn't a middleweight, not really, and never had any intention of fighting at a full 160. He used his star power to dictate terms against Sergio Martinez (a 159-pound catchweight, basically just to do it), and Daniel Geale (157). He was middleweight champion, but it was closer to novelty than a truly legitimate claim. Throughout his reign as champion, there were few who felt anyone other than Golovkin (34-0, 31 KO) was the real leader of the division.

That's still the case, but Jacobs (31-1, 28 KO) now has a good argument over Canelo, too. Frankly, so does Andy Lee, the WBO titleholder. We all understand that boxing is a business and all that promoter talk, but Alvarez, despite his status as champion and WBC titleholder, has not achieved anything as a true middleweight. And we all understand that because of boxing politics, GGG-Jacobs likely isn't going to happen any time soon unless something changes, and neither is Canelo-Jacobs.

This is just a simple question: what's the actual best fight at middleweight right now? Do you think it's really Golovkin-Canelo still, or has Golovkin-Jacobs become more of a serious threat to GGG, with Jacobs' size, power, and speed? Or do you think it's Golovkin against someone else, which would be weird, but OK, you have your own opinions?

It's going to be interesting to see if the new management at HBO will work with Al Haymann. I would like to see Canelo and three G but I don't think we'll see that for a while. Canelo is the new pay per view star and I don't think they want to take a chance with three g right away. I think Jacobs is in Al Haymann fighter and Canelo is a golden boy fighter. Three G kills Jacobs but it is a fight I'd like to see.

That Miura - Vargas fight was an excellent fight on the Alverez-Cotto card..

I was flipping back and forth on Saturday night between the UFC and the boxing on (NBC sports i believe it was) and some Dude was getting stretchered out of the ring..Does anybody know who he was and he if he is ok??

I hope he is ok..I will never forget the Beethavean Scottland fight and how unnecessary that was..

Good call on both Cotto and Roach..........time to ride off into the sunset. I`ll miss Cotto and his tenacity and spirit, few have that type of dedication in the ring.
