I would say Cotto would win dont think Canelo could easily ko Cotto as easily Cotto could ko Canelo but
in a actual fight i would have to say Canelo will take a decision!

I think Canelo will tire by the 8th round and Cotto will take advantage of so and produce a KO in the 9th. Roach knows Canelo's weakness, his instructions will be crucial in this fight. PBF out boxed him, so will Cotto.jmo

I think for this to happen Cotto must bring it to Canelo i mean a War but dont think he will
it will be a tactical fight and Canelo`s height and reach will score more.If Cotto does bring it
to Canelo it will piss Canelo off he has a bad temper that would be dangerous for Cotto.

Didn't see that against PBF, on the contrary, I saw a frustrated Canelo, not being able to land punches. Miguel needs to box, he's faster and a better boxer. Just look to land a left hook to the mid section and combine with straight rights to the face, till that left hook to the jaw comes. Canelo looks good against static come straight fighters. Lara gave him lots of trouble.

Good points Highwayman.. They both always run out of petrol at then end of fights... Plus they both only know how to fight one way and have never adjusted in any fight I have seen from them both... This match I will watch as I am sure a whole bunch of my Paisanos along with my Boricuan friends... May the best Metzican win... Lol......

There are many schools of thoughts about WHY Alvarez will win. And there are some interesting comments the other way around - that Cotto is bound to school Canelo.

So what is or isn't believable? First, let's examine some pointers as to why CANELO wins. They say that he is young, strong, and has matured to become quite a force in the division. They say that the "young guy" will push the older Cotto around, and submits him with powerful body punches and straight rights. They say that CANELO has been the busier fighter in the last three years. Finally, they say that CANELO is the "naturally bigger man", and may come in at between 170-175 pounds at fight time.

What about those who like COTTO's chances? The number one reason? He has been ''retooled" and revitalized by his association with Fred Roach. Cotto's professional resume is impeccable except for four losses: against a loaded glove with Margarita; a fearsome and explosive Pacquiao; Mayweather and Trout. There are no excuses for the first two losses and while he lost to Mayweather, he was FMJ's most difficult fight. Perhaps losing to Austin Trout could be attributed to other mitigating factors. Nonetheless, this is a resurgent COTTO whose impressive wins against Rodrigues, Martinez, and Geale can't be totally ignored.

COTTO comes to the ring "inspired" and "totally committed". When it comes to preparing his pupil, Roach is brilliant. He is not teaching Miguel anything new. He is simply releasing into the ring what his pupil possesses as a professional boxer. This is not an ordinary fighter. This is a guy with a big heart who can slug it out with the very best...even when he is burgeoned and bloodied.

Canelo has not fought anyone with Cotto's calibre. Although they say that Canelo has learned from his loss to Mayweather, and has matured as a boxer, he is not as quick as the Puerto Rican. He is vulnerable to punishing body shots. Against a boxer who can throw and connect a lot of punches per round, Canelo could conceivably run out of patience, possibly causing him to resort to temper tantrums, as he has been known to behave when frustrated. It is in this department that Cotto has advantage...he does not lose his cool.

So what could be the final verdict? Golovkin likes Canelo Alvarez's prospects. Several Mexican aficionados are of course rooting for their boxing prince.

I personally think that this is a close one to call but I do like Cotto's chances for an upset. Why? He's got a bigger heart and powerful fists.

Well If those are your thoughts Aqua I disagree with a couple.. Canelo is a good defensive fighter and so is Cotto... Speed kills.. I would say they are both equally fast... I still maintain other than the Argentine, Cotto gave PBF one of his truly most difficult fights.. I have to give this to my paisan as again he is a lot younger bigger and stronger... He will prevail..But it will be whoever does not run out of gas first...lol

Miguel can win if he nails Canelo early and earns his respect.. Canelo does NOT like
to be tagged.. Floyd hit him hard in the 1st round and that was the end of Canelo.
Miguel has to bring some good legs with him... box and move and counter the redhead.
DO NOT get caught on the ropes.. look for Canelo to go to the body as most messicans do.
Miguel gets pretty puffed up around the face.. Canelo does not have knockout power but
has heavy hands... will cut or swell Miguel up if he hits him enough.
Miguel must box and counter... Exact same thing Danny Boy did against the gaucho...move baby move!
I say Canelo outweighs Miguel by at least 12 pounds at bell time.
I am rooting for Miguel... but it will be a tough task. AGE and SIZE.

See, you guys know your thing. The fact that Canelo is bigger would most definitely make him slower, thing that Cotto will take advantage of. Roach will figure out a way to get to him quick and get back out of his comfort zone. It'll be a though one but Miguel has been there many times. Size against experience.
