No chip was making a point as every other member does and there was no swearing. It may have insinuated swearing but there was no swear word. PD

they are all operating the same way as the IKS servers do. leeching off each other and if you check the URL of the stream you are getting you will fine the same URL being used by most services and those same URLs are also being used by the free services as well and also available as downloadable play lists.
it is not like each channel you see is something unique to that service

it has been said a 1000 times over already
as for Europe being better they have been doing it for years and have built a better infrastructure and quite possibly the channels you see running well might not be in high demand there either
Not that I am complaining but just wondering if its just me or not...
are ipguys feeds getting worse?
yesterday they were down for a while completely.. today all channels freezing and audio is fading in/out each commerical / show.
Today its totally unwatchable on almost ALL english channels.. I have not tested non english

All the IPTV that I have seen is garbage. The picture quality is like a VHS taped at SLP mode. plus, add on the constant freezing and many other annoying hiccups.
Nostradamus
07-22-2015, 11:32 PM
not unless some of these guys start using their own feeds and quit leeching off of each other
I might not be too picky then :) I am satisfied with the quality of video and audio up until now... If I wannt true HD or High Quality I will go to other sources but for live tv or background tv this is fine to me.
It was occasionally poor in very quick spots but now constant freezes every few seconds.
but this is now is totally unwatchable. Are the other servers going though the same?

That's the problem with IPTV streaming.
The infrastructure costs are fixed, so the revenue from each new subscription is pure profit. The IPTV streamers will always have an incentive to sell additional subscriptions up until the point the network collapses and no more subscriptions can be sold.
Which seems to be the point we're at now. :)

im watching ipguys all night today ......well on one channel big bang theory
quality great no freeze
but this is all apart of "underground service" when are people here who have been on the site a while going to learn that for the penny's you pay your not getting a Mercedes of tv...........if you want that pay the dollars and get a sub
for the penny's the quality on my 55 " tv is better then vhs maybe you need to adjust your settings.........or for the penny's do you expect the reseller to come over and set it all up for you like a sub?
honestly its cheap its good for those who do not want to spend 150 a month for tv
they said before..........tv was free the commercials paid for it.....now the commercials still pay for it and they just want more!!!
just my 2 cents

Honestly, I'm not complaining. I just needed to know if everyone was experiencing this. I have changed some settings, still freezing. So, now I know I should keep trying other things...that the problem is on my end. I'm sorry if you thought that I expected the reseller to come and set it up...that was not my intention. Thanks

Are you using a mag box?
Yes, I'm using the mag254. Thanks
tbird,
It could cost 1$ or 100$... if it is freezing every 30-40 seconds its not watchable at any cost.
I can attest right now on 3 different bandwidth backbones all 10mbit or higher I am getting freezing on disc-sci,diy,hgtv, space channels. Speed tests show for my current location 21mbps down and 8mpbs up.
Look I am not complaining..
I have been doing dss, fta and now new to me iptv for a very looooong time and I realize the internet is a questionable delivery medium at best. I dont really care about the HD or quality that much either for live tv but a source that freezes be it dvd, website, etc is not a deal at any price and ipguys I take it are not the only ones with this problem.
Perhaps if I was grabbing a.m3u lists from pubic sites and seeing freezing there is no question thats what you get.. but when you are told "freeze free" then I expect at least that. Lower the res.. lower the channel count.. I expect that.. but the base of the service should remain intact no?
again this is not a bash at IPGUYS.. my OP was to find out if it was happening on all providers and not that I am testing several it can be seen across them all.. just perhaps more of less depending on the channels being watched.
Cheers
:)

im sorry for the freak out
i have had a few nasty pms were people think they should be getting a perfect service all the time
yes i have seen people post its a freeze free service no down time...etc well i'm here to tell you thats not true.........they do have there good days and some bad days.......when its going great its awesome but when its down then some people get really upset
it has been good on average i have king tv before and they just walked away they did nothing for it. im sure ipguys is trying to keep it good because of coarse they want the money
but just for the new people please understand this is not a corporation running the service it will have ups and downs and if you cant handle that then this game is not for you
but for the rest of use who endure the pain............have fun .......i enjoy not having to download the new release and i love the 3d movies they have too
i just hope it gets better with time

Exactly! I'm kicking around the idea of getting IPTV but with all the complaints I hear about it around the net, Not sure now is a real good time. I paid $2300 for my 55" Samsung about 2 years ago and if there is that much trouble I'll just continue paying $8 a month for Netflix and watch local TV. Just wouldn't be worth the stress to me. Not yet.

Stick with netflix, The picture quality of IPTV is about the same as a VHS tape recorded at SLP mode. It is like watching TV in 1987.

I have no idea what you are using to watch IPTV but I usually watch feeds that are 1080P and the pic is awesome. Beats Netflix and any HD Fta unit I have ever seen for pic quality.

It's clear from some of the comments here that some of you have no idea what IPTV is all about or how it is supposed to work. It's not IPTV that's bad...it's the servers you are needlessly paying for when you can stream this content for FREE and with 720 or 1080 quality. If you think the quality is that of a VHS tape then you clearly haven't set up your system properly and should be asking for help instead of berating a TV viewing option that those of us who have it set up properly, find it to be awesome...AND FREE!

I was running it thru kodi on my i7 HTPC which has a high end video card. Compared to my genpix skywalker setups(HTPC and CW4000HD), it is garbage. I would not pay 50 cents a month for these clown IPTV services.

sounds like something misconfigured in the video on that PC or your internet provider is throttling your bandwidth. but the real question is why are you resorting to paid services anyway? Surely if you can build a PC and dedicate it to video you should be able to find free live streaming elsewhere

I tried NFPS thru stailker and was not impressed. My brother bought one of those mag boxes and tried a couple of paid services and he was not impressed. when FTA croaks, i will upgrade my basic fibe sub and retire from sat.

the only paid service I seen running was NFPS Stalker and to be fair to them it was still in trial mode so the up / down stuff was to be expected. I do not watch much of the live streaming stuff and any show I want to watch I can usually catch the next day, minus the commercials, on a server someplace.
really for IPTV to work well you do need a lot of bandwidth and not have to worry about the data being capped either. I am lucky in those regards but I wouldn't consider streaming anything with bandwidth of under 20 Mbits

I wouldn't pay .50 for any IPTV service either. I've been streaming IPTV (for FREE) since Feb. and couldn't be happier. True, some streams are low quality but when you get your system and the right addons set up properly there is tons of HD 720 and 1080 available. Had to be something wrong in your setup if you were getting poor quality.
TBird,
I didnt think it was a freak out :) btw you mentioned you were watching The big bang channel? Is there dedicated channels like that? I dont see them.. but that sounds like an AWSOME idea!
As for IPTV not worth it...
Fair is Fair .. The VOD streams are great and so far the are almost all HD... I dont have freezing on any of the VOD streams at all!.... THAT ALONE can be worth the price of admission I guess for some. As for Quality I see nothing wrong with any of the streams so far on my 50" lcd when not freezing they are actually better than some of the charlie or beverly chans.
Also NOT all channels freeze btw. Unfortunately the ones that do are the poplular ones (at least to me). I would say its a growing problem but without feedback its hard to be confident. IPTV is the future but still being worked out.. its not easy to setup a server or servers to handle loads like I can only imagine.
Just my .02
Cheers :)
johnnylarue,
I am not sure what your setup is but I am using both Kodi on a i3 rig and a Mag254 right now and its excellent quality on most channels. 720 and even 1080 so far on most. No blocking or atifacts at all on my 50" ... acutally I wouldnt mind them lowering the quality if it meant better streams until the entire thing is perfected.

Public and m3u lists found on the internet are really not worth it IMHO. I download and hunt for iptv feeds as well.. even paid for lists that worked for as little as hours. Its a grab bag with no epgs and russian roulette as to what you get. Albeit fun to do and feels a lot like the old Sat channel hunting I used to on C and KU band. I miss those days.. :)
But free iptv will never be a solution for the majority of folks. most would rather get thier shows from icefilms or simular sites.

there will never be a solution for free tver's because no matter how much they get for free they either always want more or what they currently get for nothing is ever good enough. There is an expression about looking a gift horse in the mouth and most of them do not get that concept whatsoever.
BTW Icefilms is a free service so if they are paying for that it shows just how gullible these individuals really are

You know I tend to agree with you... some people are never satisfied with what they get .
I brought up icefilms only as an example. did not mean to infer it was a paid service. Since fta was complicated I have been watching all my tv on a pc hooked to my tv and sites like icefilms and allshowsdaily. :)

Public m3u lists are NOT the way to do IPTV. Using KODI and the right addons is the way to go.:)
