Anyone have a good active C band TP to try and find 87W, I have tried all listed TP's for 87W on several sites and find nothing on that bird, I have all C band satellites that I can see from my location, but can't find 87W.
Any good ones???

Well Hummmmmmm, 87 W must be in a dead zone, I will have to go dig out the telescope and see whats out that direction, I will also wait till tonight, it will be much cooler, maybe I'm getting that dreaded bounce on the signal from that bird.
I get ZIP on any of those TP's.
Time to try for 177W.....Fun stuff.....

Something is definitely impeding as signal quality on Ses 2 is off the charts for me with most tp at 15 db.

Yep, TP 4000/H/29126/ is close to 100% S&Q on my 7&1/2 foot BUD dish.

Well I am totally pissed off with that Vbox, something glitched last night and it swung the dish to full West and it hit the hard stops, it also erased/changed all the settings for the directions to all my sats, looks like I will have to start over, if it does it again it's going back with a very bad review on this site.
Have to go out for a bit but will continue later.

My vbox 6 has never give me any trouble, it's the only trouble free sat equipment I own,LOL.

Well something happened to mine, all satellites now go to now go full West, I have reprogrammed the due South satellite and 105W so I can at least watch the NASA channel in HD.
I have to stop it in mid sweep and reprogram it to the correct position, oh well too late tonight, will start over tomorrow.

I have a 10 ft dish and a v box I have had for several years. Was using a Openbox s9 and getting about 70 channels on 87W. Now using an Amiko A3 and still getting about 70 channels.

You need to start your vbox setup with your true south sat, so if you were at 35.0,N & 78.0,W your true south sat would be 78.0w,
that's where you should start.

Due South satellite for me is 121W.
But I have done all that when it first went up.
What made me very mad is when the box glitched and sent everything to full West, the dish hit the hard stop, it did not stop at the software stop for the West limit.
I don't know what happened but now the V box has been re-programmed, and all but the 87W bird has been relocated, I put the V box on it's own UPS to keep any AC voltage transients out of the picture...
Now to deal with why I can't get a peep out of 87W.

What receiver are you using.

OpenBox X5.....And I get every satellite on my horizon but 87W, I think I may have an inversion problem with that satellite, I'm going to try a different receiver tonight after I take a break, I've been trying every trick I can remember on this problem, but nothing has worked, I tried a different "C" band LNB, I tried adjusting the skew on the LNB, I tried adjusting the distance from the dish, I raised and lowered the dish, I checked the pole alignment and it's true vertical left to right, front to back.
So it could be an inversion problem on that bird, I wish I still had access to the RF spectrum analyzer from work, it would solve a ton of questions.
Trying out the old CoolSat 5K tonight but have to look for an old QPSK transponder on that bird.

With the openbox x5, go to your sat menu/edit sat/and turn OFF 22KHz/ if it is on it will kill all C band S&Q, BTW, if you are using
the openbox to run the Vbox, only use DiSEqC 1.0/ 1.1 don't play well with the Vbox.

OK after some testing I find that 22 KHz on or off does not make a difference on my setup, I tried a "C" band only LNB and still found nothing.
22 KHz on is only for the dual band LNB to switch to the "Ku" band, it is off for the "C" band.
Now after some very exhausting work I found the problem.......... You know those 3 little screws that hold the LNB in place???.......Well I found out that they were twisting the LNB out of alignment..
I got the channels scanned it with the LNB loose in the mount, then using a square, I tightened them ever so slightly till they were tight and the LNB did not move, got all channels on 87W, and a much better signal on all the others, I guess 87W has a tight beam.
It's very hard to reach those screws as I'm on top of a ladder to reach the LNB, used a bigger ladder and things worked out.
Thanks to all that helped.
