I have a question guys that I was wondering about, since we can get "live" TV programming on our mag boxes whether it be 250/254 or 260 or whatever, I like to know for instance if I could get live news from here in North Carolina since we can get a "live " broadcast feed at certain times, here over the internet, why not get it here via the internet too?

When using your mag you are using the internet. You could also get live news by googling live news feeds. Hope this answers your question

What i'm seeing. It's not really "live" there is a delay.

I had charlie on and IPTV on the same channel the other day.
The IPTV was behind about 30 to 45 seconds. from the satellite feed, and even that's not "LIVE"
For IPTV, the data must get sent to a storage device then you can stream. I don't think you can stream without storing the data somehow.

I'm not the expert, maybe somebody could add to this and clear this up...

Thanks, but not quite the answer I'm looking for, more or less my question is like why don't they have a feed that's more or less in the general area you live in, say for instance if i lived in Virginia, why do I only get news from New york ? instead of va. or NC? Depend on the server?or seller?

There are a few reasons, but the big one I can think of, it's not cost effective.

so how many people will watch Virginia beach local? not too many
