I have a Dreamlink HD V.1 or 2 and now I am having problems after the Dreamlink HD has been shut down from the back then turned on it will not recognize the external usb hard drive

This external usb hard drive is a western digital and it is recognized on a computer then having to do a delete partition....create partition...FAT32 primary drive in EaseUS program then it will work with the Dreamlink. This is the second time I had to do this.

Could it be that the external usb hard drive is going slowly even though the computer recognizes it? This external hard drive is fairly new and runs without external power. The other Dreamlink HD T5 has no issues with another external usb hard drive without external power. Please reply back if you have had this problem or issue too, and what I can do about this. Thanks in advance.

It could be that the USB port on that receiver has a power problem, most USB ports are limited to 500 mA at 5 volts DC, if the receivers USB port has a power delivery problem it could cause problems with the external drive.

There is a device that will measure the DC power and voltage drawn on a USB port, it also will supply additional power if needed.

Check this hummer out.

Also check the DC power spec's on that drive to make sure it's not over drawing the port.
