A Cape Breton fisherman hopes to reel in some new business this summer when he's featured on an American reality television show.
A team from the show Catching Monsters spent a couple of months last fall filming Matthew Panuska — who runs a bluefin tuna charter company out of Inverness — and first mate Jesse Ryan in pursuit of gigantic tuna.
The show will premiere in the U.S. on June 5 on the Discovery Channel.
Panuska and his vessel, Dawn Treader, will be featured in episodes three and four.
"I've seen just a few little blurbs, a few little snippets, and it looks really neat," said Panuska. "If anyone's seen Wicked Tuna, this show is a little more artistic and a little more cinematic."

Matthew Panuska runs a bluefin tuna charter company out of Inverness and will be featured on the Discovery Channel show Catching Monsters this June.
Panuska has been fishing since he was 12 years old, and also fishes for lobster and crab. He has a commercial licence for bluefin tuna.
He said the producers of Catching Monsters called him out of the blue last spring and then did an interview with him over Skype to see if he was suitable for the show.
The filming took place last year, in October and November.
No wardrobe changes
Panuska said he got a glimpse into how these shows are put together. Early on in the filming, on a particularly warm day, he wore a sweater and shorts on the boat.
"When we got off the boat, the film crew said they'd be back the next day and they said, 'Oh, by the way, the clothes that you wore today, you pretty much have to wear the same clothes from now until we're done filming,'" he said.
That would allow the crew to interchange shots, he explained.
"I froze, but eventually they did have to film shots of me taking off my ball cap and putting on my tuque," he said.
Panuska hopes the publicity will bring in some new charter business, but mostly he says it was just lots of fun to be part of the show.
"It's going to be cool to get together and watch — we're going to be on Discovery Channel!" he said.
A Discovery Channel spokesperson could not say when the show might air in Canada.
