I have been in the sat game for yrs and thought I've seen it all, till now. I'm in the process of setting up an nfusion receiver with the dish pointing to 119 & 110. I can find both sats by aligning with each one hardwired directly. When I then put the switch in place the receiver won't switch off of sat 119 when i try to switch to a 110 channel. I've tried 3 different switches all with the same end result, won't switch off of 119. When I hardwire to 110 sat, I get all channels.
I tried putting up a seperate 110 and 119 dishes with the same results, won't switch off 119.
I tried factory defaulting and rescanning, will pick up 110 for scanning and then switched and scanned to 119. Then when I go to watch TV it once again won't switch off 119 when i go to a 110 channel.
I've run out of ideas as to what might the problem might b.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to how to fix this problem???

Only thing I can think of is that the box no longer sends the diseqc commands correctly. You could try to capture the signal--you could DC isolate the box output to the LNB and sample the output with audio port of PC. The signal is modulated 22 kHz and while you can't see the 22 kHz with audio boards, you can see the modulation on it--it is pretty much the same as you see remote controls put out, so expect some stuff about 1 millisec or so pulsing for a little while (they only send 4 bytes worth of data so not very long modulation, but if signal lock does not happen they try to repeat the command a lot). Been a while since I've read any service manuals with the signal amplitude, but I think it is about 1 V or so on top of the 14/18V LNB supply.

I've seen a few installs where one lnb would cause the problem. You could change the diseqc port in the menu and that one lnb would show up on all four ports. You can test by moving that lnb to the other position and see if the problem moves also. Changing the lnb solved the problem.

I have seen a similar problem and the cause was old coaxial cable. Try changing the cable from receiver to switch

I have seen it before as well and it was a bad transistor on the board not switching .... remove the coax, turn the box on and measure the voltage on the coaxial connector on both a vertical and a horizontal channel. One way should give you 13-14 volts and the other polarity shouild be around 18v

What type/brand/manufacture of LNBs are you using???

The lnb's I'm using are Ariza. I've tried switching them out for some other brand as well with same results. The coax cable is brand new, so it's not that.
I pretty much have the problem solved, I at least have tv. I had to put a separate dish for each sat, i.e. one for 119 and one for 110. It is now at least switching but before i couldn't get it to switch to 110 from 119 but now it is being very suborn switching to 119 to 110 but with some messing around each time i can get it to switch to 119. Still confused as to why I would need 2 separate dishes, I've never run across that. I will try and attack the problem once again next wk.
Thanx for all who sent in suggestions cause as all of u know that when it comes to this stuff, "anything" could cause a problem and allot of times what doesn't make any sense at all could be the solution to the problem. Keep the ideas coming.
All ideas are greatly appreciated.

Nostradamus trouble shooting is the way to go to isolate your problem. That is where I would start.

The only thing left is the diseqc switch!!

I had the same problem with a jynxbox. I was told they just don't send a strong enough signal for the switch. Bought a dreamlink and floged the jynxbox. Never had another problem

Sounds like a short in the system. Diseqc 1 is the default position. If there is a short, it will drain the power and you won't be able to switch to diseqc 2. I am assuming 119 is on d1? If so, swap it out and put 110 on d1 and see if you are now stuck on 110. If so, you'll need to get a vom and find the short
