You want to pick up WIFI from your WIFI router?
If so then there are several choices, however the distance involved matters, it's a two way street, you have to send info back to the router and also recive info from it, so you need to use a booster if the distance is over 300 feet or more.
Most WIFI devices have 200 milli watts of RF output, all this will go away if you mount an antenna outside the camper, this due to cable loss at 2.5 or 5 GHZ. (depending on the WIFI)
You can get some good high power WIFI devices at a place called "Amped Wireless" they make stuff up to 2 watts in putput, this would compensate for any signal loss in the coax up to the antenna.
I use one of their little USB devices mounted in a small water tight box mounted at the top of the antenna mast, it connected to the 2.5 GHz yagi antenna, then a 15 foot USB extension cable down to the laptop, works great.

you never run a long wire from device to antenna, you either use a usb cable to get away from the device( I have a 15 footer going from pc to the alfa in the attic) or a usb extender that uses cat6 to get the device 50 or 60 feet from the pc or receiver in this case.

I have a 100 foot run to the top of my tower with RG-214U coax, it ends with a 5.6 dBd omnidirectional antenna fed from a 2 watt bi-directional amp, works great, the WIFI router feeds the 2 watt amp and out the door it goes.
Granted the best way it to run the device at the antenna, or in some cases an active antenna would work better, my ISP uses a 5 GHz link to supply the internet here, they use a mast mounted WIFI antenna that has the CAT5 to WIFI modem inside the antenna, it has a DC power inserter at the router end.
In some cases you can't run the USB up to the device, then its best to boost the signal as best as you can, I used two 10 foot BUD dishes to get a WIFI signal across town, it was a hill to to hill top, on a 10 mile hop, used two of the 2 watt alfa devices mounted where the LNB's would be, a DC powered USB hub to power the alfa i each dish, then a USB to CAT5 with POE adapter, worked great.

I just need a antenna to pick up any hot spots out there in the camping world.

I think this is more of what you are looking for, you would get more help in the wifi section.

I use the Alfa 2 watt USB device devices, but I also use their yagi antenna along with them, it is cut for the 2.5 GHz band, and also has a VSWR of 1.5:1 on the transmit side, and has a 18 dBi gain factor on the 2.5 GHz band.
You can find more info on these here.
The antenna,

The Alfa TX/RX device,

You will also need an extension coax, use a pre-made coax jumper it has type "N" connectors on it, so you will have to look through this list to find the length you need to reach the point where you will be mounting the antenna.

You will also need an "N" to RPSMA adapter to fit the coax to the Alfa TX/RX device, one like this will work.

The one I posted is what I use on my motor home, you can get about 10 miles per 8 feet of elevation.

In other words, you want to catch fta hd or sd channels with a wifi ant. instead of a dish?

I think the idea is to get wifi for his PS and set his sat dish up on the camper, that's the way I would do it.

I wasted money on a sagent usb2.0 extender that won't work with the alfa wifi device, only low power usb devices which they neglected to mention. The alfa causes the pc to reboot when the usb driver kicks in.

Use an externaly DC powered USB 2 or 4 port hub at the Alfa end, works great to power the 2 watt unit
