You need to determine what your true south satellite is and make sure you have a clear path to the south. A cw receiver will work well with sd channels but it is a bit dated and no hd. What size of a dish are you putting up? What lnbf are you planning on using?

if cw700 stands for captiveworks 700? i could find no info on if it does DVB-S2 transponders.
The c-band game almost requires that. much S2 and some good HD stuff up there.
I think the Dreamlink T5 is about all out there that does S2 and Turbo.
i do not have a T5 , it failed one requirement for me.
i have an X2 hd i use for c-band.

Look at the lyngsat info for transponders and the good C-band Birds channels.
You may need to adjust your receiver accordingly.
what c-band content are you looking for, spanish, sports, tvshows, ect?

i am not on everyday, but i am a c-band nut and will try to answer.
if you dont get an answer, PM me, i will eventually see that!

edit - ah, i see costactc already beat me to an answer. I know him from other forums and he is pretty sharp.

If you have specific c-band questions, ask.

I have several x2 receivers which are excellent for true fta and especially c band and quite inexpensive. What type of setup are you using on c band?

I would aim for 99 degree satellite. You get some feeds, some networks and all in all the best SD only sat.

99w, as stated in previous post, is a great sat to start with. You don't have to delete anything, that's up to you-backup your info on usb and load factory file.
