IKS registration error

I am try to recover and setup a CNX Nano 2 for a friend. I have an issues getting the IKS configured. The dongle at the back of the unit has no light or power source so I dont think any file is needed for this dongle. After reloading the factory file and bin I can configure the network setting. I not sure if this receiver still works as I have never used one.

My action are as follows:
1. Loaded factory file NPN 8.06 ldr (8.09 and 8.10 results in C108 on display) using RS232
2. Loaded file NPN 1.29 NPN using usb
3. Connect dongle and apply (DHCP) IP address
4. Successfully scanned (119) channels
5. Attempt IKS registration which fails after about 1 minute and reboots receiver.

The system info after completing the steps above is: -
SW: Mov 1.29 LDR 1.08
HW Ver: 1.00
USB 2.0 Driver 1.00
Nano 2 (2)

Going to have to convert it over to an ilink...procedure is in the link below...note the changes in the remote functions once converted...can make navigating the menus a bit ticklish lol :
