Got a new T5 after losing connectivity with my old DL HD original. Bought 2 new digiwave switches, running an old legacy DTV dish for 2 rooms with 3 lnb's for port 1= 119, port2= 110, port3=129. The one room is using a Mega box and the other the T5. The Mega is running flawless, so I know its not the lnb's, however I cant get blue bars for the 119 or the 129 sats, only for the 110 bird. Im currently only running 1 cable to the switch for 110, as all I get is red for 119 and 129. Always unplugging and going back up on the roof to try other coax to the other ports, no go!

Ive been in the game a long time, never had this issue, I know switches blow out sometimes, but this getting ridiculous.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I'm a little confused. You say you are running only one coax, but you have two switches. Is the first setup from receiver to switch then to lnb(s). The second has to be the exactly the same as the first using the same port on switch for each ln b as the first setup and of course the same setup in antenna settings. Have the boxes unplugged, hook up the switches, have a good ground preferably to water line or hydro ground and then turn boxes on from rear and all should be good. good luck

one coax runs from dish to switch on roof then to rooms, each having their own run, in the bedroom flawless on the mega but in living room the T5 only getting 110, tried multiple switches. How can it work in the bedroom, yet with the same setup on the t5, only 1 bird? I never had this before. Ive been unplugging every time so as not to blow the switch. I dont think my dish is grounded tho, but worked forever without.

Sometimes it's the simple things we miss. Are you sure you're set on the t5 for "All Sats" and not just on 110? If the other box is working it's got to be something wrong in the settings of the t5.

Im getting red bars on the 119, and 129. Do we still have to put turbo 8psk, cause Im only getting red, even on 110 with that setting in manual, then trying to scan. Got the channels from 110, like 400, but cant get blue on those other 2. Always set at all sats, this is wierd. It cant be the coax coming in to the box as I tried to test it with my antenna cable as its close, same sh*te

You have to use the right transponders to check for 119 and 129, for 119 use TP12457R, for 129 use TP12516R.

The 12457R transponder on 119 has the "Dish 101" channel on it, the 12516R transponder on 129 is the only SD transponder and has the "you have a dish at 129w" channel on it. (CH9599)

129 is coming in as 110 west in blue, so, gotta be the switch, still red on tp 12457 on 119, or gotta be the cable, cant figure it out

Thanks for help

Well some switches have a ground lug or mounting post, you can connect these together with some #12 gauge copper wire, the run that directly to a metal outdoor cold water pipe, a special ground clamp is used to ground to the pipe.

If this is not available then the outdoor AC service ground can be used.

Transmission should be DVBS QPSK

That should work fine for 119 as well.....check lnb type and port settings.

The signals on an ungrounded system can cross talk to the other switch, this can cause problems like your experiencing, burning out switches can also be due to the lack of a good system ground.

If the switches can't be directly grounded then a ground block can be used, one that is rated for satellite systems should be used.

Obviously as T says grounding could be a problem here but now that you have the correct transmission to scan i would clear everything.....possibly factory reset, or at least clear channels then scan again once you get a positive lock on all 3 sats before beginning your scan.

thats the problem surf, not getting a positive lock on the 2 birds, only on 110, tried reset, just cant get a lock on 119 and 129 anymore

This always seemed to be a switch issue, gotta b like T said, grounding

Getting CNN on ch 200, but info says 110

Just checked the sat listing for 119, if your getting CNN on Channel 200 then you should be on the right bird, check to see if your on TP12486R for that channel, if you are then your on the right bird.

Info on my remote says TP 12468, but still says Echostar 10/11. Dont make sense.

Have you factory reset and rescan, if so possibly putting the factory file, reset and the working file may resolve your issue. Just sayin.

Thanks Hunter, I'll try it again, its just that Im not getting a good sig on 119 anymore...

Ok, just moved T5 into the room with the mega and working DMS switch, scanned and got all channels back. However, took the T5 back out and reconnected it w/o power then fired it up, getting CNN and TVland saying 119 again, but not all channels coming in, has to be the switch, (Digiwave from Ebay) but 2 of them failing, wierd. How can the other box work on the same dish not grounded? Like T said they must be cross-talking.

Great to hear you got the problem fixed.

Now for a long term solution, I have Dogs and they like to chew on things, so to protect the coax get som of this stuff (link at the bottom) it will protect the new coax from becoming the new chew toy.
