Well I did some more reading (sorry about the thread hijack earlier) and I do have a few questions:

The back-story: Today kind of on a whim, I bought a v4 because it was half the price of my Dreamlink T5 and I just kind of wanted to play around with it.

Questions:

1) I see in the sticky discussion about the v4 that it's supposed to have 650ma of LNB output, but in other discussion threads they're saying it's actually 450ma: Which one is correct for the v4, 450 or 650?

2) I also seem to be gleaning that these don't need special bins loaded, being clones they'll come with software that's just ready to input your settings and go? Is that correct, or is it only on the v6 or certain specific models?

3) The retailer I bought it from will let me return it for pretty much any reason--should I just do that? Return it unopened and buy the v6 (or another) instead?

4) Is there a better revision in the same price range as the v4 and v6 (which were within $5 of each other...I hope that's okay to say, I don't think we're supposed to talk pricing)? The posts I saw recommending v6 over v4 were like 8 months ago so I'm guessing maybe things have changed?

Sorry, I know this is a lot of random questions, but it's sounding like I made a mistake buying a v4 from what I've been reading. I'd really appreciate any comments!

Thanks in advance!

Well I like the V6 & V7 because the LNB output is 650mA, I don't know about the V4 power output.
Yes most of the clone jynxboxes come preloaded, just load your server info, scan CHs and your are done.

Thanks. I'm a little torn. On the one hand, the v4 gets here friday and I can just tear it open and have something fun to play with over the weekend. But if it's only 450ma of power that's going to make it a challenge to drive my 1000.2. My T5 currently struggles so I'm thinking that is probably 450ma also.

Is the tuner board any better or different between v4 and v6 or v7? The listing for what i bought doesn't have the + after it.

Just wondering if I should keep what I ordered and be happy for it, or go to the trouble of returning it (eating the return shipping) and re-ordering and waiting a week+ on the better models. Will definitely have to think about it some.

You can hook an old DN receiver to the first port on the LNB, that will power the LNB and take the load off the jynxbox, that way
you will have a new toy to play with over the weekend, you can't to many toys,LOL, that way you can buy another toy in a week or
two, that's the way I play,LOL.

:)

I'm on kind of a limited budget, not too much money to throw around trying new things. (in fact if this works nice enough I may sell my DL T5, even though it's probably by far the better box). The problem is I'm in an apartment and have only one cable coming into the place, so I'm a little more limited. Can you insert power on the same line? Like if I used the LNB out to the provider STB, or maybe a DP44 power inserter?

The jynxbox don't play well with a power inserter on the same line, I have never tried a DPP44 switch with power inserter and that LNB, so I don't know.

Yeah my Dreamlink doesn't play nice with provider STB hooked up to the same line either, it will change channels like lightning, but can only seem to ever see two of the three sats at any given time even if the other STB is "off". Never did figure it out. I will be hitting up all the forums to see if the v4 has 650ma, if it does, then probably keep it (Fibroso seemed to be saying in the sticky thread that it does have 650). If not, then probably send v4 back and get v6.

Just an update: I will be switching to v7 which actually ended up about 20% cheaper than I paid for the v4. Saw that seller liutao on fleabay was recommended so that is what I did. Now to settle in for 2-3 weeks while it makes its way here form shenzen or wherever they ship from.

Thanks again, especially to iq180, for all of your help! I'll be seeing you around the clone boards!

I've decided that if v7 is at least halfway decent I will sell off my dreamlink and just run v7. I would like to have as little $ invested in hardware as possible in case they all become doorstops soon.

That's good news! Anytime I see "e-packet delivery" on an ebay item I just budget 2-3 weeks. Glad to see I won't have to suffer so long.

I don't think that vender is in China, I think that one is in PR.

They messaged me afterwords with the tracking number and said (exact quote)

hello,my friend, the goods had been post by China e post -->USA usps post,

Maybe they are just quick to get through customs. Or maybe I will have to wait, but I can just be patient if I have to.
