Dreambox 500

What will be the easy way to just change a Dreambox 500 p$ info with a new one. The box was working fine with a already p$ but we need to change it to a new one

Here is the file the box has and where I am. I have all the channels loaded, lnbs configuration OK, I have good signal and quality. The box is connected to the internet via ethernet. All I missing is how to enter the p$ info?? Please any help??

I'd like to help you out my friend but I have never tested a dreambox before, hopefully someone replies.You may be testing Dreambox shortly. Supposedly PowerVu will be launched on this platform. I tried Dreambox a couple of times and gave up, getting up to speed is sometimes cryptic. Be ready to get familiar with your serial port to load images,etc if you can find a proper NA image. Lot of people swear by em.

Make the decision to go ahead and learn the process. What a nightmare and funny adventure!! First, you need to erase the image on the DM500. Then you need to re-flash the unit with the latest images of your choice. I loaded the latest Pli. All this using the null cable/RS232. Later loaded the americas DB using the Dreamedit via lan manager. Set time, LNBs type/port and finally loaded the rqcamd for P$ using the Dreambox Control Center. Love the testing and this was really funny (plus a day and half into it) :sun:

make sure you get a copy of flash wizard to back up your setting,congrates on doing it in a day and a half,not sure what servers support the d/b 500

you need rqcamd

use this procedure :
Rqcamd currently requires 6 files to run, although extra files may be needed by different images to integrate Rqcamd into their emu manager, but with these 6, correct files, and their proper installation, rqcamd should run.
/var/bin/rqcamd (chmod 755)
/var/keys/rqcamd.conf (chmod 644)
Note: The conf file may be located elsewhere like /var/bin, but var/keys is the preferred location, wherever you put it, make sure there is only 1 rqcamd.conf installed.
/var/keys/Autoupdate.Key (chmod 644)
/var/scce/EEP01_102.bin (chmod 644)
/var/scce/EEP08_102.bin (chmod 644)
/var/scce/ROM102.bin (chmod 644)

and now run rqcamd

Telnet into the DB and a simple command of:
/var/bin/rqcamd

I was able to load the image, the database and the rqcamd. It work fine for a day or two then all of the sudden I turn on the box and everything was erase. So I did all over againn just to find out a day later it happens the same. So I gave up with this box. Something could be wrong with the box. Have no idea why someone design a box with so many things to do to use it. They will need to work and come up with a more friendly use plug and play firmware version, what a nightmare!!

Hey Tubbs was able to configure and watch a Dreambox 500.
So that means anyone could do it.
I gave up on it though. maybe I shouldn't have....because.....

It sure had a much better guide than my dreamlink!!!!
