required Internet Speeds

So I figured out after some reading that the cache full message is really just telling me that I am having speed issues so I kind of thought that might have been why I was getting all the buffering so I ran a speed test and my down load speed was around the 15 mbps area the service I have is 25 max which is the fastest I can get in my area I guess due to the fact I live in an older section of town I know I can not watch 1080 stuff any idea what the required speeds are for 720 feeds and does having laptops running at the same time as I am watching tv slow it down:noidea:

the laptops running at the same time will slow it down if you are doing anything usinag a lot of bandwidth like gaming.

as for your 1080 content download and save it to thumb drive and then watch it from there... no buffering that way

keep in mind some repos do not support downloading

ok first insert a thumb drive
surf the android to the programming you want
either press the menu button below ok or right click if you are using a mouse
in the context menu select direct download (link will be there if it supports downloading)
first time it will tell you that you need to configure a download folder
back out and go to config section for that add on
look for download tab in settings and select external media and then the proper SDA device

now if you go back to your programming and select the file again for downloading instead of viewing it should be writing the file to the device and you will see a saved percentage update every so often. I have had as many as 3 programs downloading at once but that depends on the addon as well as to how many. Also the download folder will have to be configured for each different addon.l

I don't have an IKS attached receiver but I have a 3 Mbps internet and have no problems watching movies at 1080P with my DN receivers, no buffering and shows run almost instantly.

I also have no download/upload bandwidth limit to worry about, you may be running into a speed reduction due to bandwidth limitations on your ISP.

This is not an iks receiver Terryl, it's an android streaming box.

Terry i'm with you; if he has buffering with 15 Mbps,he has something wrong on his internet set up, stream players like Roku need 5Mbps for best HD but most streaming sites like ESPN3 to stream HD content only need 2 Mbts minimum ,i also have DSL and i only have 3Mbps and most times i'm ok,although if i had 15 Mbps most likely would have better HD streaming, most times when streams start buffering,it has nothing to do with the Equipment but either the source is not putting out enough Bandwidth or too many people are watching that video stream.Next weak i'm going to change internet provider from DSL 3 Mbps to Comcast 6 Mbps and i will confirm if i get a better HD streaming with less buffering or legging.

Thanks guys for all the help I have cable at 25 mbps max and after running speed test several time today it seems that I average 15 mbps with unlimited access I am routed from the cable modem with a single ethernet port into a my wireless router my Dreamlink android box is connected via ethernet cable to the wireless router I thought I using a cable would be a better connection then wireless but it made no difference any suggestions would be appreciated this is very frustrating

Did you try to shutdown for 30 sec both the router and the box and turn them back on.

I think a lot of buffering is overload on the server end because I still see it here at times on live HD streaming and I am running 50Mbps. Granted I have a lot of net connections here with a cpl of different boxes connected to internet, 2 smart tvs, 3 computers and a game console at times as well so really hard to say how much is draining away from the android at any given point

Ya being from old school FTA rebooting all the equipment was first on my list lol that and I am a non techy lol

I have even tried unplugging everything but the android box and still the same lol hae to get on my ISP see when they are able to upgrade our service

Yeah, after rebooting everything, it looks like it's an issue with your ISP. Best of luck friend.
