Hi guys,I have a interesting question about signal strenght on a BUD connected to a GE Super350i and SV8000HD.For about 2 years,I had this bird on this setup without any problems, but about 3 months,I noticed that the signal strenght on this bird(some of the channels)it's almost null, while in others it goes about 50 percent. My question is as follow: Is any component on this setup that is responsible for the decreased on the signal strenght or there is any changes on this bird that i have to be aware? Also,is there any fault on tha antenna itself or anything that need to be checked on it?Any help greatly appreciated.Thanks.:noidea:

I totally agree with you. Months ago I used to scan in many more channels than I do lately. I've noticed major decrease in signal strength at 55.5 and 58w- sats may be in tailspin of their life cycle, which is usually 15 years for a sat.

Thanks Cosatctc for the prompt response.Like you said this hobby has been for a while and I personally remember this satelite for a while. What happen when a satelite reach its lifespan,it's just taken out of orbit and that 's it or the channels got carried out by another one? Thanks for your help, greatly appreciated!!:yeaah:

They usually launch a replacement sat after it reaches the end of its lifespan. Sometimes better or worse, for example, used to get many channels at 45w but they changed the sat and we lost it for over two months and the sat footprint changed.

What I heard about 58W is that SKY is demanding more TPs for their subscriptions clients, maybe this is what is happening they are using more TP for the KU band and C band is being out number or some thing like that. about 55.5 I don't know nor heard anything.

Not sure Turbo, all I know is that I used to scan in alot of channels at these two sat positions but not too many left.

I know, I am not sure either, but that is what I was told, I install a lot of dishes for 58W Ku BAND channels, and that is the info I was given, they need more tp's to add channels and add HD channels also.

Too bad loosing channels on c band. Ku band on Intelsat 9 requires a universal lnb from where I live, not worth the investment for very limited channels.
