A new Mega TVi Hd3000. Satellite 81w, 91w, 119w & 129w are missing many channels, some of them favs. Close to half of their channels have 0 level S & Q, though for some reason 110 seems okay. They are spread through the tp`s, not just a few tp`s. THe channels that do come in are mostly 100% S&Q though.
What all I did all:
-Disconnected all switches, including disecq & scanned directly. Problem still appeared.
-Switched around the LNB`s to see if it made a difference, it didn`t.
-Tried a different coaxial cable, connected directly to an lnb, no improvement.
-Scanned individual tp`s with advanced scan setting, with the right pids found on Lyngsat- didn`t work either.
Btw I hooked up my I-link to the same coaxial & everything worked fine on it, DN anyway.
Can anything be done, or should I just accept it as a limitation of this model?

load the channel list and see if that helps

No limitation on this receiver, all should be scanning in.

I found 3 channel lists, I will start off with the DN one you posted yesterday.

I installed the DN one okay, changed the settings, started scanning 129 first, it's S&Q was 75/75 about normal for it, but again I only get 253 channels, normal is over 400, right? The same ones as before have 0 S&Q, here I list them, they are almost all in the 9400's: 29, 35, 36, 37, 50, 77, 85, 86, also 9512 & 9526.

Going by that you are missing all but 3 out of the 8 conus horizontal tp's so it is a good chance you are only getting half the channels you should be...which leaves me to air on the side of either being the lnb not set right in the receiver or a power issue. I guess reading you other thread on those lnb's it is possible that being as old as they are they are just not compatible with the Mega...or they never set the receiver up to work with those type of lnb's. :noidea:

Is there a way to thoroughly check the settings in the receiver?
My lnb's aren't much older than many being used out there- someone on another site even said that Legacy duals are less prone to power issues than newer lnb's, I'll quote below. If indeed it was the age of my lnb's, there would be others with the same age & type of lnb buying new boxes & having the exact same problem... but there isn't?
The Mega sure does scan quickly, maybe too quickly & maybe misses some- but I tried the slow scan option & didn't make a difference.
Don't wanna replace all my lnb's til I'm sure that's it. They even work perfectly with my Jynxbox Ultra, & it's not a much older model than the Mega.
I hope there's better options, but maybe I'll have to sell or trade it in, & likely get a Sonicview T5, a bit older model but less risky.

"Nothing wrong with your DN/BEV Legacy Duals.. still thousands of them in the field.
No need to change them unless they are causing an issue. New DPP Triple LNB's require more power and most newer FTA boxes have a hard time powering them.
Yes they make it easy because the switch is built in and you can get multiple satellites (3 or 4) all on 1 dish but its a waste to remove perfectly working equipment just because someone tells you to go with new stuff. Its not any better as far as how it works."

Terryl said I have bandstacking lnb's, anyway... so how out-of-date can they be? I post a pic:

I agree 100% if there is no problem with them then there is no need to replace them...but there is a reason that you are not able to get the horizontal tp's question is what. Two things I can suggest...one...hook directly to the lnb for the 129 and scan with one cable hooked to one side of the lnb at a time if it is a dual and see if it misses the same tp's on both ports. And two try every possible combination in the scan menu and see if changing the settings in there makes a difference. I would stick to one satellite and one cable say with the 129 and just trouble shoot. If you can't figure it out that way you may have to scan two different satellites and see if it misses the same tp's on the horizontal or vertical side. If there is an issue with the lnb or a power problem there has to be a pattern in there somewhere.

I scanned both as you said & no difference between the two that I could find. The same ones wouldn't come in but the others did fine. One thing did happen though: the 10 channels on 129 I listed disappeared. THe reason is when I first had these problems I returned it to the guy I bought it from & he returned a new one that he pre-scanned. So the box isn't seeing those tp's at all.
I played with the settings a bit, for example changed 12472's from H to V. The S/Q bar changed from red to green for that, a good sign but when I scanned still nothing came in for that tp.
Besides the S&Q bars at bottom right of info screen there is another indicator at the left, a green bar, I'm not sure what it indicates, anyways it varies a bit with some channels.
I think it's something wrong with the Mega, again my setup works fine with my I-link, Jynxbox & even Nfusion. I'm stumped too.

Just set up a mega and having the same issue of missing channels. loaded the channel list and that did not help. I think it may have something to do with the transponder information loaded into the box. did not go and look closely at the transponders that not working but there is definitely an issue here. Jynx and az link work great on 119 and 110, any suggestions?

Can't help you there, I sold my Mega a couple of weeks ago. I was open about my challenges with it & got $50. Now I have a DL T5 & it works like a charm.
Even the ITV on Mega wasn't so great... mostly sd, slow & not very flexible.
